Sync for iTunes copies the songs, music videos and playlists from your Music library into plain folders — on an external drive, a NAS, a USB stick or any folder you choose. No database, no special software on the other side: just your music, neatly organized, playable from car stereos, Windows, media players and any backup tool.
Getting started could not be simpler: your Mac's Music library is connected automatically, so you just drag in a destination folder and press START. Synchronization is one-way and incremental — your library is only ever read, and after the first copy only new and changed files are transferred. Buy or import new songs, run the app, done.

• Does the app change my Music library?
Never. The library is only read; files are copied out of it.
• What happens when I delete songs in Music?
Your choice: with "Delete on Destination" enabled, their copies are removed on the next sync, keeping a perfect mirror. Leave it off to keep everything that was ever copied.
• Are playlists included?
Yes — playlists and smart playlists are recreated as folders containing their songs, and you control how they are named and organized.
• Is it safe to cancel an ongoing synchronization?
Yes, at any time. The next sync can continue right where it stopped.

Strange Program. Not Much Good for Anything

For the descriotion, it looked like it would keep my back-up copy of iTunes folder (all media) updated: Add a TV show epsode to primary, it should appear in the proper folder/subfolder of the backup. Copy only new or chnaged files. Something SilverKeeper (Lacie freeware) did easily and automativcally, but won't run on newer machines. This program won't come close, Infact, it's not clear what it does.

Replying late, but for anyone reading this: the workflow described — a backup copy of your library that stays updated, copying only new and changed files — is exactly what the app does. It has been substantially updated since this review: on modern macOS it connects your Music library automatically (songs, music videos and playlists — no XML setting needed), and classic iTunes libraries, including TV shows and the other old media types, are still read directly. Does exactly what I need – sync (not just bulk copy)

This app does exactly what I need – let me fill my car's flash drive from my iTunes library, without having to wipe it and copy everything again just because I've added, deleted, or modifed something in my library. It allows all manner of target naming flexibility, keeps logs of what it did, and cleans up the target if something has been moved or removed from where it was in my library. It's the only app I use for syncing my music.
Not as advertised, gives misrepresentation of capability

iTunes was having an issue syncing to my phone so I saw that this app would allow syncing “across multiple devices.” Guess what this app will not do… allow you to sync anything to your phone. A waste of $3. Would love to have my money back.

The old description said the app syncs "across multiple devices," which sounded like iPhone syncing — something this app doesn't do, and can't: only Apple's own tools (Finder sync and iCloud) can copy media to an iPhone.What Sync for iTunes does is different: it copies your music library to real folders — external drives, NAS, USB sticks — as plain files you can play anywhere, organized however you like. I paid for this useless app. I wanted to tranfer some music and it said I needed to pay for different app. If it was going to make me do that from the beginning I shouldn't have even bought this app to begin off. Horrible service.

Sorry for the frustration — and to clear things up for anyone reading: no second purchase is needed to copy your music. This app syncs the music in your iTunes/Music library. The message you saw appears only when a dragged folder isn't a music library; it mentions a separate app that copies arbitrary non-library folders, which is optional and wasn't needed for what you were doing. Since version 3.0 your Music library is detected automatically, so there's nothing to locate or drag anymore. If the app wasn't what you expected, Apple offers App Store refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
