The free Avera Health Plans Virtual Visits app gives mobile users an easy way to connect with a live provider for an online video visit using your own mobile device. It’s simple, fast and you can use it anywhere—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This app is for Avera Health Plans and DAKOTACARE health insurance members over the age of 2. A virtual visit is a perfect option if you are dealing with flu or cold symptoms, headache, diarrhea, acid reflux, seasonal allergies, sinus infection, or any other minor illness.
Check your Summary of Benefits document for your specific virtual visit benefit. Members on a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), catastrophic plan or Medicare Supplement are not eligible for the free urgent care virtual visits. Visits are available for $64/visit*.
*For most members. Some limitations do apply. NOTE: IRS Guidelines indicate that members with HSA-eligible plans may be subject to tax penalties if they use the free virtual visit service. If you have an HSA-eligible plan, you may use your HSA or Flex spending dollars for this service.
This App is amazing! We moved out of state. I have CVID a primary immune deficiency that causes chronic/frequent sinusitis and I am having a hard time finding a new Primary Care Doctor out here and getting in to an Immunologist. These Drs saved me from sitting in the over crowded urgent care around sick people with a low immune system CVID and waiting forever. Thank you Dr Tad Jacobs for making this available.

This was a fabulous experience!! Living rural, it would’ve been over an hour of driving, plus waiting in a waiting room. The visit took less than five minutes and I only waited for maybe two minutes to connect with the provider. She was fabulous and extremely helpful!
