Metar Italia shows the METAR reports of every Italian airport, read straight
from the official Aviation Weather Center (NOAA) source.
The app opens on the full list of Italian stations with the raw report, the
observation time in UTC and the ICAO identifier coloured by flight category:
green VFR, blue MVFR, red IFR, purple LIFR. One glance tells you where you can fly.
Tap a station and the report is decoded item by item: temperature and dewpoint,
wind direction and speed with gusts, visibility, QNH in hectopascals and inches
of mercury, field elevation and cloud layers in METAR notation.

Data comes from the Aviation Weather Center (NOAA), exactly as published at the
source. Metar Italia is a quick reference tool: always rely on official sources
and the required aeronautical documentation for flight planning.

- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
The weather service the app relied on was retired, and reports had stopped
updating. This version moves to the current Aviation Weather Center interfaces:
data works again, and reading it is now quicker.
• Station identifier coloured by flight category: green VFR, blue MVFR,
red IFR, purple LIFR
• Observation time in UTC, highlighted when the report is no longer current
• QNH shown in both hectopascals and inches of mercury
• Cloud layers on a single line in METAR notation (e.g. SCT016 BKN033 BKN140)
• Search by ICAO identifier or by the text of the report
• Pull down to refresh
• Rebuilt widget: refreshes reliably and now comes in the large size too
• On Apple Watch the picker puts the ten closest stations at the top, with the
distance in nautical miles
• When data cannot be loaded the app explains why instead of showing an empty
screen
• Fixed a few widget crashes
