• Cloud base/Dewpoint (dew point) data: necessary weather information for pleasant paragliding
• Spots: over 30.000 spots sorted and located by the type and area. Add your spots to favourites.
• Spot chats. Got anemometer? Share info about weather conditions and wind direction in the chat from a kite spot.
• Community: exchange weather reports on the spot. Want to be a local/spot leader? Email us the name of your spot at feedback@catchwind.co and we will create a chat for it.
• Weather Stations: online data from nearby online weather stations.

This is a very narrow-minded review for those of us who are just weather junkies - we're not flying kites (at least not every day), sailing boats, or otherwise out playing in the wind. We just want the best weather info available, both forecasted and observed.I've got every remotely serious weather app in the app store and subscribe to the premium services of a couple dozen of them. There's only one thing (in my opinion) that this app does that other available apps don't do better (and it's the only one that has this feature at all): it allows you to stack the parameters of several different models for easy comparison. I've created a custom profile that lets me see the model parameters I'm interested in grouped together for easy comparison: temperature, precip, wind, etc. The other Windy app's maps are far better, LuckGrib is far better at displaying the models and ALL the parameters, etc. I could go on with this sort of comparison for pages, but this app is the only that has the killer feature of letting me position the data in a chart in the order I want it - for that reason alone, I pay the subscription. Their support is also first class and they listen to requests from their users. But the custom profile comparison capability is the reason this app has a place on my home screen, and the reason I think it deserves 5 stars in a very crowded category.

Best weather app I've used! My wife and I spend many of our weekends in the wilds of Idaho without cellular service; I love that the app saves the favorites forecasts for use off-line, and Windy helps you identify weather stations that are closest to your destination for the most accurate results. It has also been very useful for planning the timing of our trips as the wind across the Idaho plain can often vary through the day, often in excess of 40mph... not fun when towing an RV!If you fish or hunt, it can display sun rise and set with the same for the moon including the phase. Much of the input needed for most ballistic apps can be displayed, as well (though I wish I could find reported station pressure; thankfully iPhones have a built-in barometer).I did spend several hours learning and setting up the app to fit my specific needs, but I plan to use it for many years, so it was totally worth it! The app is excellent right now, and the developer continues to add upgrades and improvements. After using it for the one-week trial, it was an easy lifetime subscription decision for us!

The best boating weather app - period

I am a weather junkie. I pay for several weather app subscription’s and love you compare sources in order to best predict what the weather might be. Since getting a boat, wind, wave height, wave period, tides and more are very important to me. This app gives me a “go / no go” if I shield go out. Since you can favorite many locations, I check on multiple areas around me. This help me figure out if it’s a bay / ocean / back bay day. I really like the HRRR forecast. It is super accurate and pinpointed to a very small area. It also is a short term forecast so it’s typically right. I also like the ability to set up multiple dashboards with all the data and graphs that are important you me. One that’s nice is graphs comparing multiple wind forecasting sources so you figure out which is going you be right or at least average them. If you boat on marine water you can’t find a better app I now skip the others for this one.

My name is Bill Maxwell I am the owner and operator of the sport fishing boat TunaFever. From April through November my 57 foot sport fish weather permitting seven days a week between 45 and 55 miles offshore. We operate out of the Oregon in Inlet fishing center located in Nagshead North Carolina on the outer banks. Most of our fishing is done on the western wall of the golf stream where it crosses the hundred fathom them curve. This app Windy is by far the most reliable source of information that I can use to determine whether I’m gonna have a safe day a beautiful day or whether I should go at all it’s an important factor on how I treat my people for my business because of the accuracy of this app. I’ve been in business for 34 years and looked at all kinds of things for information for safe passage in the ocean and yours is by far the best I recommend it to anyone and it is been my pleasure to use it thank you so much Captain Bill Maxwell !!!!
