My entire family LOVES this app. We love watching movies and choosing the filters to make movies more family friendly. Our family had chosen to not watch rated R movies and many PG-13 movies are terrible. BUT NOW ALAS….our movie titles available to watch have opened up. We can watch any rating with our regular filters. It is super nice to even have the few swear words and especially blasphemy removed from ALL movies. We take sex out of the movies also. It is kind of comical at times when the sound just disappears and you know something is being said, but we don’t have to hear it. IT’s AWESOME!!!Don’t be afraid of buying the movies. When you sell them back there is a running credit. You can also set the movie to auto-sellback so you don’t accidentally buy a movie you don’t want to keep forever. We accidentally bought 2 movies at once but that is kind of great because instead of several $1 or $2 charges vidangel draws from the credit. I think if everyone knew how awesome this service is they would all have it. ONE LITTLE PROBLEM: Sometimes the SD version of a movie is “out of stock” but that typically only last 15-30 minutes. We don’t usually wait and just go ahead and buy the HD version for $2. When you are ready to start a movie sometimes you don’t want to wait ;)

This app is supposed to be promoted to families, filtering, bad constant. But how do you filter something when you have movies on here that are LGBTQ, (heartstopper) you take time to put these kind of movies on here and not good movies. So disappointed with this app. I will tell everyone I know do not get this app. It is not Family orient. If I could give it a zero, I would.

Can no longer stream shows to my chrome cast or Apple TV since the streaming platforms added ads. Makes no sense.

I am so happy to have this service available! No more gratuitous sex (such as in Band of Brothers). No more offensive language (but I can choose to leave in what is critical to understand the movie). Violence in a historical setting or as part of a meaningful drama doesn't bother me as much as violence for the sake of violence (why even watch that type of movie!), and I can filter out specifically the scenes I want to. Yes, the first movie is $20, but that is what gives the legal basis for the technology to not be challenged by the movie industry (i.e. Cleanflix). After that first movie, you have a $19 or $18 "credit" banked with VidAngel that means that you can now watch movies for net cost of $1 or $2 in the future, although you technically own the movie during the time you choose to watch it and keep it in your purchased movie category. The filters are very easy to use, very descriptive, and the default setting makes the process very quick. I can set it and not be concerned about my children watching a movie. Sure, the older ones could change the filters, but they actually don't want to watch the bad stuff either--they just want to see the movies their friends are talking about. This service is well worth it if avoiding offensive material is important to you.
