Kudos to those who realized that this is Zork. However, this was not taken from Zork. Zork was a commercial personal computer version of the already existing Dungeon game from the minicomputer world. As a kid I was playing Dungeon at my dad’s work before the Apple II was even wide spread and before Atari and Commodore computers were even for sale. This is a fun nostalgia game to play on the phone !

NO I mean it. You can't love this game unless you love the older games. I'm glad I do as I truely enjoy playing this. It's an old text based game that is a true to the way it was. For those that like modern day graphics and gameplay where you don't need to think about it all to much, stay away. Not saying I don't I just love this as it brings back that days of good gameplay. When it was you, the computer and a lot of map making and writting, just so you remember how you got there and how to get away. I suggest a try at it, it's free, so it's worth somewhat of a shot.

This game brings back a flood of memories from my youth, I remember sitting in front of a glowing green screen as a young teenager, exploring the world of Zork on various 8 bit machines at the time. This is a faithful rendition of the original and I am glad to see the author has updated it to take advantage of the larger screen of the iPad.The first reviewer does not realize that Dungeon IS Zork, Dungeon was the original name of Zork before it was commercialized.

I first played Dungeon in 1978 on a DEC-10 running RT11, and this app totally brought me back! It's perfect! Thank you so much!!!P.S. - As an encore you could add ADVENT to the file directory, so both text adventure games of that era could be represented. Just a thought... =p
