Useless for RAW import

Just got this app set up with my KP and iPad Pro. First thing I noticed is no landscape mode in the app. Once I got the Wi-Fi connected import is kinda slow and limited to one image at a time. Once the RAW image is imported I can’t do anything with it. The Photo app shows a blank image with the EXIF data (no PEF support?). Affinity photo can see the Image Sync folder but shows nothing in it - Apple’s Files app is the same situation. I can’t move the RAW images as they don’t show, and the Image Sync app doesn’t connect directly with Dropbox or Google Drive, so no way to transfer the RAW images to cloud services. Once I disconnect the camera and go into the Image Sync app the RAW images show as blanks… so what am I supposed to do with this app? It’s completely useless for RAW import and editing on the go. Save your time and buy an SD card dongle.

Update: I found a way to move RAW files into Affinity Photo for editing. After importing Raw from your Pentax with Image Sync open the Photo app, export the blank RAW to a cloud service (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud…), once the RAW uploads go into Affinity and open/redownload the RAW file… so basically download, upload, then download again. Unfortunately I can’t export from Apple’s Photo app directly to Affinity, and Image Sync has no file management or linking to cloud services… I’d rather use an SD card dongle than go through this process with Image Sync again.

Rarely even works

I have a Pentax K-1 and have been trying to get this app to work to transfer images over the wifi. Sometimes it does work, albeit incredibly slowly. Other times it appears to be transferring for 20 seconds or so then says the transfer was interrupted. If you've selected multiple files, you have to go back and choose them all again. Honestly, this app seems like it was designed for someone trying to transfer a single picture. Transferring more than a few at a time is a royal pain in the UI even if it does work.

Very disappointing after getting such a nice (and expensive) camera.

Works perfectly after figuring it out

At first it was very frustrating. GR iii’s manual is not well written. But here’s what worked for me. Get WiFi info from the camera. Go to iOS WiFi settings and connect your WiFi to the camera’s SSID. Do this first. You can transfer photos this way. But you don’t want to have to manually select the camera as WiFi source every time right? On the next launch, go to Bluetooth settings in the camera and connect via BT (from within this app). FYI you can’t transfer photos with BT. This is going to be used to auto connect to WiFi going forward. So you have to manually go back and connect to WiFi to transfer photos (like the first time). But on subsequent uses (after turning camera off/on) i launch this app and it connects automatically to the camera first via BT and then connects automatically via WiFi. So it took a few tries/steps. Note: I have the camera’s BT settings to allow BT to ALWAYS be on. Makes the iPhone <> Camera connection happen faster.
