See every page of InDesign files (INDD, INDT, IDML) right in Finder: press Space for a full preview with spreads, and get real page thumbnails – no InDesign needed. indd QuickView brings Adobe InDesign files to life in Finder. Select a document and press Space to flip through all of its pages, or browse folders full of real page thumbnails instead of generic icons – without opening InDesign, and even on Macs where InDesign is not installed. GOOD TO KNOW - InDesign does NOT need to be installed – indd QuickView works on any Mac. - The document must contain saved page previews. indd QuickView shows the previews that InDesign stores inside the file; it does not re-render the layout. Files saved without previews cannot be displayed. - Preview quality depends on how the previews were saved in InDesign: the larger the saved preview size, the sharper the result. For the best quality turn on InDesign › Settings › File Handling › "Always Save Preview Images with Documents", choose "All Pages" and "Extra Large", and save the document again. Older files often contain only small previews or previews of the first pages. PREVIEW WITH SPACE - See every page of INDD documents and INDT templates in Quick Look - Facing pages are shown as spreads, just like in the layout - Long documents open fast – up to 200 pages in Quick Look, up to 1000 in the app window THUMBNAILS EVERYWHERE - The first page becomes the file icon in Finder - Works in folders, in Finder search results and in Spotlight - Fast on external and spinning hard drives: only the small part of the file that holds the previews is read OLDER FILES AND IDML - Documents saved by InDesign CS6 and newer - IDML (InDesign Markup) files are previewed too PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Everything happens on your Mac – no internet connection, no accounts, no data collection - Files are only read, never changed GETTING STARTED 1. Open indd QuickView once after installing. 2. Make sure both "indd QuickView" extensions are enabled in System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions › Quick Look. 3. If another InDesign preview tool is installed, turn its Quick Look extension off there. Available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
