I've been using this app for over a month now, and it has become an indispensable tool for satisfying my curiosity about insects. The accuracy of the species and genus classification is remarkable, even when working with fuzzy or less-than-perfect photos taken with my older phone. The app's ability to pick up on minute details is astounding, which has greatly contributed to the accuracy of its identifications.The brief overviews provided about each insect offer valuable insights, particularly the information on toxins or venoms and the maps showing where the insect is commonly found and at what time of year. I also appreciate the additional photos provided by other users or sourced online, which further aid in identifying the specimen.While the pop-up asking for an upgrade to the premium version is a slight inconvenience, the absence of ads in the free version more than makes up for it. Overall, this is a fantastic app for anyone with a curiosity about bugs. It's an invaluable tool, even for non-scientists like myself, and provides a great starting point for identifying insects. I only rated one star because if I gave zero stars I wouldn’t be able to write a review. This app is so inaccurate! I took a picture of a moth I captured and it said it was a North American Luna Moth, and it most definitely was not! It wasn’t even green! I even tried with the caterpillars. I’ve had better success with Google 😤
