I’ve had the full-meal-deal version of the Intego products for several years. Love ‘em and more important, I *trust* them; having that confidence in this type of software is paramount. Getting the full suite (or I should say the revenue-driven rental model that I loathe) can be a bit expensive if on a strained budget, even if you can manage to catch one of the promos they run every so often (and I encourage you to watch for them, as they are really on sale). But then one day, I come across this product, and frankly couldn’t believe it: you get the same full-hardcore industrial strength scan ’n quarantine functionality, just without a price tag. O happy day ! And if you are unfamiliar with Intego products, one thing I really like about them is that they allow YOU to configure their interaction with your system (read “allows you to keep it out of your way, but use it when you need it”). Can’t say enough good things about it. And I would also encourage you wholeheartedly to take a look at their range of offerings if you are in the market for security products. They update the software frequently (the virus definitions constantly, which is good), and they also have very nice thorough documentation and user guides you can easily find on their website. I have not used their tech support (haven’t needed to), so I cannot comment on that.

I was having an issue with popups in my browser when going to certain sites. Went so far as to wipe out my hard drive and did a complete clean install. Went to one of the sites and dang if those popups didn’t start plaguing me immediately. Started to research online but everything they said to do I had already tried. I downloaded, purchased and ran a bunch of different antivirus apps. Avira, avast, mackeeper, clamv, bit defender, komros and several others and they never found anything. I was going through my purchased apps when I saw VirusBarrier Express in the list. I had downloaded it when I got my macbook in 2014. I redownloaded it and ran a scan. Well guess what? VBE found a file buried in a content folder that was infected. It was a jpg file from a game that I had downloaded and was stored on my secondary partition. I followed the path that VBE gave at the end of the scan and deleted the file. I am not having anymore issues with popups at this time. I just want to say that this virus scanner found what big name ones were not able to find. Thank you Intego for the amazing virus scanner. I will continue to use your products. I have recently downloaded the newer version. I will keep both just in case. If I could give you a 10 star I would.

I like this app. I had been looking for a free app to use for virus protection. I had wanted to remove some apps that I suspected of malware when i got my mac but wasn’t able to remove them. With this app it popped as malware and I was able to delete it finally (after a year of having my iMac). I’m still a new Mac user, being a first time user, and am still in the process of learning the Mac system. (I was a windows user for many years and always used Norton Anti-Virus on the regular.) When I switched to my iMac for my desktop I was completely under the impression that Mac needed no virus protection. But, the virus protection that came with the system, wanted me to pay for it and found many viruses. I’m like no, you’re not sucking money out of me. I enjoy this app (even though I’ve only used it for about 20 minutes now). My Dell windows laptop finaly gave out (only after 4 years, the wireless card is fried which is connected to the harddrive and it will be easier to buy a new laptop, I will be going with Mac when I do), but until I can buy a new laptop, I am using my desktop as my full time computer. With that being said, I feel like I need some protection.Long story short, I would definitely install this app. I am very happy with it! THANKS!

I encountered a frustrating issue with aggressive pop-ups appearing without warning. It was so bothersome that I felt like crying at times. I received emails notifying me of multiple unauthorized changes to my Apple ID password and experienced numerous instances of money being stolen from my Apple account for Roblox. Despite reporting these incidents to Apple, they took no action other than advising me to change my password. I believe there must be another solution. I'm optimistic that the steps I've taken will prove effective; VirusBarrier detected and removed 37 different viruses. I hope this marks the resolution I've been searching for. I'll provide an update in a month and appreciate a reply as a reminder. Thanks in advance.--------- Updated ---------I have had it for three days now and I wish I could rate it a 100. I give it a 10 out of 10, take away nothing. It is a terrific app and it's free. Love, love, love!!!!!! It fixed those intrusive pop ups and now I can work with out interuption.
