Amazing!!!! Literally needed so badly

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to make something this essential. There’s so many things I grew up, thinking I know, but really I didn’t know the basic so having a reliable source like this to learn these basics is a lifesaver. I grew up Muslim and I actually don’t know the basics. So thank you for making an app that I can learn these things in it from a reliable source. As someone that doesn’t have access to a scholar, all I have is Google or ChatGPT so thank you for creating a safe resource.

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to make something this essential. There’s so many things I grew up, thinking I know, but really I didn’t know the basic so having a reliable source like this to learn these basics is a lifesaver. I grew up Muslim and I actually don’t know the basics. So thank you for making an app that I can learn these things in it from a reliable source. As someone that doesn’t have access to a scholar, all I have is Google or ChatGPT so thank you for creating a safe resource.
I love the idea but this isn’t helpful for new reverts.

Islam Revert
I downloaded this app as a new revert thinking it would be a great way to easily learn about Islam and about being a Muslim. It’s overwhelming being a revert and for someone who doesn’t speak or know any Arabic, it’s hard to learn easily. I love the “Duolingo” style of learning as it makes it easier to commit and simplifies the process. However, as stated I don’t know any Arabic and I’m starting from the beginning. While the lessons are short and interesting, there’s not much additional information available. I don’t know what these words and terms being taught mean and there’s no further information about them. I have to close the app and google what things mean. It would be nice to have everything in one place. I was hoping that subscribing to this would be a great way for me to learn more about Islam, learn prayers, how to be a proper Muslim, and even learn Arabic (or at least the most important words in arabic). Right now I’m feeling disappointed but I hope that there will be much more updates. There is a lot of potential to make this really great for new Muslims and even existing Muslims that want to grow closer.

We completely understand how overwhelming it feels being a revert and alhamdullilah many of our users are reverts and enjoy the app. But I think you have touched upon something really important and I've just fed this back to the team. We try to add "info" boxes where we can but I think we can do better to ensure that any ambiguous or Arabic term has a definition with it that you can easily access so you don't have to Google. It would be great to even hear about some examples of the words you are referring to inshaAllah (drop us an email at salaam@jibreel.app) as well as any other feedback so we can make sure Jibreel is the perfect solution for you and many others inshaAllah too. We actually didn't set out to build Jibreel specifically for reverts but have come to realise that reverts find it super useful so this would be really helpful. The design, and aim of the app is amazing, but they doing it for money, i understand the app needs money to stay up, but its no excuse for a subscription, you could run ads to help it stay up, these people aren’t doing for allah, they are doing to fill their pockets, and my advice is to not allow this to happen, shame on the app maker, in the quran in 3:77 it says “ Indeed, those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain will have no share in the Hereafter. Allah will neither speak to them, nor look at them, nor purify them on the Day of Judgment. And they will suffer a painful punishment. “

Our team have worked SO incredibly hard to build Jibreel from scratch and reinvent the way we learn fiqh. We want to make learning fiqh easy, simple and accessible. We appreciate that charging for the app is not what you want. Unfortunately, in building an app like this you need a lot of skilled people including designers, developers, content managers and scholars! This takes a lot of time and money.1) Ads: this is unfortunately not a feasible option. Ads often have partial nudity, gambling and other haram aspects including music. In addition, the volume of traffic you need to get any meaningful revenue that would cover our costs is quite significant. It's also not very nice to have ads in a app that is aiming to teach our beautiful religion Islam!2) Tradition: there is a very long tradition of scholars who have charged to teach. This is quite common actually and you will find many other traditional fiqh courses today that all charge. 3) Costs: we have so many costs! We need to pay our designers, engineers, marketers, content reviewers and scholars. This doesn't include the costs of running a server that allows the app to even be feasible! We really would kindly request you re-consider removing this review! It has a significantly negative impact on our ability to grow and do good. We also pray that as we grow we will have a stronger ability to bring prices down inshaAllah too!
