Get a Lao SIM card, recommend one from Lao Telecom booth from the airport. Download app and use KOKKOK it’s one of the best way to move around in Vientiane. It’s also probably the cheapest way. You’ll know the price you’ll pay for each ride beforehand. The fare is set by the app. We used it everyday while in Vientiane and highly recommend it vs taxi or tuktuk. No more being scammed and haggling with drivers and having them being mad when you refused to accept their fare/ride.Cons: I noticed drivers tends to ignore rides fare that are less than 20,000kip.

One of the most useless app around. No point in downloading it if the drivers do not accept the rides. Had to use another app to get back to my hotel, otherwise I would be stranded. Do yourself a favor and just download LOCA. It’s more expensive but at least the drivers will pick you up and get you to where you need to go. Very disappointing.
