Lookupper — an immersion language learning tool for gamers.
Using OCR, Lookupper allows looking up un-selectable words (like those in games).
Hover over a word and press CMD+D to see the definition in a pop-up.
Dictionaries can be customized.
Lookupper was created for playing games in a foreign language, but it is not just for games. It works anywhere there is text on the screen.
Also, Lookupper is more than just lookup-words-with-OCR tool. It actually has more advantages over the built-in macOS look up feature:
- It understands compound verbs and nouns like "break out."
- It understands when a hyphenated word is common ("self-employed") or not ("co-executive").
- It saves looked-up words.
The screen recording permission is only needed to recognize words. Lookupper does not record video; it only takes a screenshot when the hotkey is pressed. Your data never leaves the computer, as the app fundamentally has no internet access (it lacks the internetClient App Store permission).
Supported target languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Ukrainian.

This app do what is creatod for... the main function I like is that it recognizes the Phrasal Verbs and that is Great ! also its lookup on any place on my Mac.
