The option to clear the history (like one of the screenshots claims) is not easy to find (you have to go to the menu and then choose the chat with the three dots). This could be made more intuitive and prominent.

I also do not see a Ghost Mode to ensure that chat history is not saved. There is nothing in Settings->General.

I hope this is fixed soon and that the app itself provides a short tour on these key privacy features.

Hi there!

Ghost mode is available in the top right of the screen when you are logged in. It's not shown in Guest mode since chats are not persisted, so ghost mode is not required.

You don't see the delete all option for the chat for the same reason, you need to be logged in to have saved chats.

In "guest" mode as we call it, any chat you make is gone as soon as you create a new one. Privacy by default :)

Needs improvement, since it’s new

I used Lumo a bit on desktop and it seems to do fine on basic prompts, however on follow-up questions the AI sometimes says that it can’t respond and usually goes “I’m sorry, I’m unable to help”, along those lines.

Now most unfortunate, the app here on iOS does not work properly. Even after force quitting the app and reopening, for a moment it says that the app is loading and preparing to open, but then it goes to a blank white screen, and occasionally tells me that it is unable to load.

I give it two stars instead of one simply because it is a cat mascot 🐱. Though, the AI and the app definitely need improvement, and I’d love to comfortably use a truly private AI.

Sorry to hear that. We are aware of the issue, and our team is actively working on a potential fix to resolve it, although we currently don’t have a specific timeframe that we can share. Good Enough GenAi Without the Creepyness

Is it as good as Gemini or ChatGPT? No. But does it do 95% of what I’d want it to do? Absolutely. In some respects I like Lumo better because it’s not totally sycophantic and telling me that every question is a great question.

Proton has a great reputation for privacy so I feel much more comfortable using this than the others out there, and end to end encryption on your chat history means you’ll never have to worry about your chat history ending up in Google search results or Facebook.
