Markdown is a lightweight formatting language for plain text. It's the format of choice for note-taking apps like Obsidian, iA Writer, Bear, and Notion — and it's what AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini naturally read and write. Feeding your AI clean Markdown instead of raw document formats saves time and precious tokens. If you're moving content into any of these tools, Markdown is the bridge. Markedly specifically outputs GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) — the widely adopted standard that adds tables, strikethrough, and other extensions on top of core Markdown.
