Your notes stay plain .md files on your disk. The AI sits beside them, on your own key. No account, no subscription — try it free for 15 days.
mdai is a calm, local-first Markdown editor. Your notes stay ordinary .md files in a folder you choose, and the AI assistant runs on your own API key — nothing is uploaded, nothing is held.
PLAIN FILES, ALWAYS
Open your vault in any editor, sync it with anything, keep it forever. There is no mdai account and no sync service — your files sit on your disk.
AI BESIDE THE TEXT
Summarize, fix grammar, translate — a section or the whole document, with a line diff you accept or reject. Your key, your provider, your call. mdai never resells tokens; add a key when you want the assistant, and delete it when you don't.
TASKS FROM THE WRITING
Write a task anywhere and mdai gathers them across the vault. Headings become an outline you can jump through.
TODAY'S NOTE, ONE KEY AWAY
Press ⇧⌘D and mdai opens a note named with today's date, started from your template if you set one.
ONE PRICE, YOURS TO KEEP
Try every feature free for 15 days. Then unlock mdai forever with a one-time purchase — no subscription, no account, no upsell inside the app.
