Mac
A mind map for one person, on one Mac. Brainstorm, shape it, leave as Markdown or PDF. New: the Day — your plan, read on the clock. One-time unlock, no subscription.
MindStem is a mind map for thinking something through.
Not a whiteboard for a team.
Not a document that lives on someone's server.
A map, on your Mac, in a file you own.
Start before you know the shape
Open Brainstorm and type. One line, then the next, as fast as they arrive —
no structure, no deciding where anything goes. Set a clock for three, five,
or ten minutes if a deadline helps. When the burst is over, drag the lines
onto the map and the shape appears.
Move things until they're right
Topics branch left and right from the centre. Drag one anywhere and the map
shows you exactly where it will land before you let go. Collapse a branch
you're done with. Zoom out to see the whole thing. Add a note or a link to
any topic.
Turn thinking into today
Click the circle beside any topic and it joins today. Give things a length
and the Day panel reads your plan on the clock: what fits, when the day
ends, what doesn't make it. Anchor what's fixed — the dentist, a meeting —
and the rest flows around it.
Mark one thing done and the whole day replans from that fact. Nothing nags,
nothing moves behind your back: off-track is information, not guilt. What's
left carries to tomorrow when you say so.
Then send it somewhere
Save the whole map as Markdown, or share it as a Markdown file through the
share sheet — to Notes, Mail, Messages, AirDrop, anywhere your Mac already
goes. Export the map itself as a picture, PDF or PNG, or print it.
Markdown comes back in through the same door: open an outline you already
have, and it becomes a map.
Your files stay yours
MindStem has no account, no sign-in, and no server. Maps are plain files you
save wherever you keep things. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked,
nothing is measured. The app fetches a site's icon once when you add a
link; purchases go through Apple. That is all the network it ever touches.
Free to map — one unlock to read time
Everything from 1.0 is free, and stays free: unlimited maps and topics, the
full canvas, drag and drop, notes, links, Brainstorm with its clock,
Markdown in and out, PDF and PNG export, sharing, printing. Your files
never lock — a day is an ordinary branch that every copy of MindStem opens,
edits, and exports in full.
The Day panel's time reading is MindStem Pro: one purchase, yours for good,
no subscription. Try everything free for 14 days — no account, no card.
