Mouse Aide gives every mouse and trackpad its own scroll settings. Your mouse can scroll the way you expect while your trackpad keeps its natural scrolling, both at the same time.
REVERSE THE MOUSE, NOT THE TRACKPAD
Invert vertical scrolling on a mouse and nothing about your trackpad changes. The macOS system setting is never modified, so quitting Mouse Aide puts everything back exactly as it was.
EVERY DEVICE, SET SEPARATELY
Each mouse and trackpad appears by its own name with its own settings — direction, speed, sideways key and buttons. The mouse on your desk doesn't have to match the one in your bag, and two mice can be set in opposite directions. A touch-surface mouse is recognised separately from a built-in trackpad.
SCROLL SPEED AND SENSITIVITY
A multiplier from 0.25x to 5x, per device. Turn it up to cross a long document in one flick, or down for slow, precise control. Fractions carry over, so even the lowest settings keep scrolling smoothly instead of stalling.
HORIZONTAL SCROLLING
Hold a key of your choice — Option, Shift, Control or Command — and the wheel scrolls sideways. Useful on any mouse without a tilt wheel.
CUSTOMIZE THE MOUSE BUTTONS
Give the middle and side buttons a job: open any app you choose, Mission Control, the app launcher, Back and Forward, or Copy, Paste and New Tab. Set them separately for each mouse. The left and right buttons are protected and cannot be reassigned, so a mistake can never leave you unable to click.
WORKS WITH ANY MOUSE
Any mouse that reports a scroll wheel, wired or wireless, from any manufacturer. No drivers to install. Apple silicon and Intel, macOS 14 or later.
QUIET AND PRIVATE
Mouse Aide lives in the menu bar with no Dock icon and stays out of the way. It reads scroll and mouse button events only — never your keyboard, never your screen — and it has no network permission at all, so macOS itself prevents it from reaching the internet. Everything stays on your Mac. No account, no ads, no tracking. One purchase, yours for good.
Mouse Aide asks for the Accessibility permission on first launch. That is what macOS requires before any app can adjust how scrolling behaves, and it is the only permission the app ever requests.

FIXES
Forgetting a device now clears its button settings instead of bringing them back when the mouse reconnects. A button can no longer be left looking held down if macOS interrupts the app. Two mice using the same button number no longer confuse each other. And the setup window now describes exactly what the app reads.
