Description
Lighting is key in creating stunning videos. So, store it in your pocket and be ready when you need it most. The new JOBY Beamo LED light has built in Bluetooth Wireless Technology allowing you to control the lighting wherever you are through your iOS device. Once paired, you are ready to capture photos and videos as normal, adjusting the flicker-free lighting output from 0-100% via the slider to illuminate the subject as you desire. You can access the traditional features in this app, including Flash, Timers, front and back cameras and video mode. You can also adjust the LED when using the camera in other apps, such as your standard iOS camera and Instagram. Add the myJOBY app to the Widget screen in your device to control the lighting easily and quickly. The JOBY LED light replicates the natural daylight well, leaving you with color-correct images. If you need more lighting you can pair an additional Beamo, they are progressively named A, B, C, D, etc highlighting the sequence by which they were paired. By tapping on your chosen letter, you can control each light independently, or by tapping the ‘All’ button you can control all of the JOBY LED lights at the same time.

the Joby team is not made up of idiots so why...
... would they waste their time building a very crappy camera app. I love the Beamo and plan on getting a second one to give my gorillapod that beasty look, that being said, why can they not just build an app to control the lights and then implement Siri shortcuts so we could toggle a scene with Siri, Widget, or Homescreen. I don’t know... it doesn’t seem that hard to me. Most of us use filmic pro, moment pro, or another Camera app that has deeper settings. here’s the catch though, even if the Joby camera app settings had deeper functionality, it still wouldn’t compete. it doesn’t work nearly as fast and the UI is way behind. I really hope they change this app to have the light controls be the forefront of the app and the camera functionality to be non existent
Joby is a disappointment!
I’m surprised by the lack of instruction for this ap. And my new gorilla pod mobile vlogging kit. I set everything up. I got lights, but the mic doesn’t work. No instructions in the box or on their web site. The help from the site sent me a phone number! Very disappointing.
Terrible App.
Love the Beamo. But this app is terrible to understand and has a very clunky UI. Wish it would integrate more with iOS or other apps. Almost want to get the new Anker LED since it is MiFi certified.
