One More Night Player Guide

Strategy

Free · Designed for iPad

Time is running out. Death is coming for you and your friends. Execute evil or annihilate good, all while a Narrator pulls at the strings in what was once your cozy town. One More Night is a social deduction game, allowing a narrator to direct a minimum of seven other players (and maximum of 30) through a cyclical dance. The narrator selects roles for players and informs players of those roles and their associated abilities. Some players will be good, and others will be evil (with one as an Antagonist). Every day and night, players will learn new information based on their roles, while an Antagonist will kill off good players one-by-one each night. Players will have to work to deduce the Antagonist and kill that player, before they are whittled down to just two good players left. This app is meant to be a player guide, providing roles for each of the three versions of the game (ordered by complexity), along with information on game rules and order of play. A narrator is expected to run each game, with players taking on character roles and working together on their teams of good and evil to eliminate one-another. One More Night was developed as a social deduction game that’s intended to encourage communication & investigation among players. While several other social deduction games exist, many of them either quickly lead to executions based entirely around a ‘look of guilt’, or contain a multitude of roles that feel unbalanced (or are simply unpleasant to play as). The roles (characters) in One More Night have been carefully designed to feel weighty, so that every single role can have a significant effect on the outcome of the game. These roles have also been designed to provide information in such a way that players are forced to piece together what they have been provided before feeling confident about an execution. It is perfectly common to have no execution on the first night as players meet one-on-one to trade information with individuals they trust. One More Night also provides dead players a final death vote, and some dead players may have actions to take or may gain information after death. This keeps those players involved and participating in the game to the very end, even if killed off in the first night.
