Description

Do you have what it takes to become the undisputed Pinball Master? Pinball Massacre is an arcade style pinball game (we know that sounds silly but it makes sense when you play). This first table in the Pinball Massacre series features two unique twists on classic pinball conventions. With MASSACRE MODE you need to get your flippers ready because you’re about to get hit with an angry pinball blitz. Score as many points as you can in a very short time. With the LEVEL BALL, we add an RPG twist that makes each pinball count. While a ball is in play, it gains experience and Levels Up. Scoring you more points and generally behaving more awesomely.

Based on the Stabb Gunner Universe, Pinball Massacre brings unique energy, art, humor, and 8bit culture to the pinball scene.

Pinball Massacre: fake Pinball just got Real.

lags on my Macbook

In 1280x800 its unplayable because the lagis so bad, the gameplay is a constant stutter, the timer's counting is very slow. I tried 1024x768 its better but still very slow, even with shadows/relections turned OFF, still lags!!!! I know my macbook can do far better visuals than this game so why is it so bad?!!!

Full of glitches too, I had the ball stuck up against a bumber and was scoring thousands of points while I watched with no hands on the keyboard. 8 extra lives in no time. this game just isn't any fun

Not Your Average Pinball Game!

Despite not being a big fan of virtual pinball, I decided to checkout Pinball Massacre for two reasons:
1. I've never played an "arcade-style" pinball game before.
2. Nuclear Nova's incredible track record of releasing unique, creative, and (most importantly) *fun* games.

The "arcade-style" moniker is totally accurate and the person that wrote it was totally right; you won't understand what that means until you give it a whirl. For me, the notion of an "arcade" brings back fond memories of afternoons spent in a smelly, dark building jamming untold fortunes into coin slots for the right to spend a few minutes pounding my hands on loud, flashy, wonderous machines. Pinball Massacre doesn't dissapoint. The first time you've got half-a-dozen balls bouncing around the screen, you'll *understand* why the illustrious "arcade" descriptor is fitting.

As for some of the technical problems described by a previous reviewer, I'm running 10.6.8 on a MBP w/ similar specs and didn't have a single issue after installation. Also, IMHO, you're not getting the full experience if you're using fixed-camera mode. I tried it out for a while, but I much prefer having the game do all of the rapid neck work for me ;)

In summary, Pinball Massacre provides a unique, totally rad arcade pinball experience in the comfort of your own home. Can't wait to see what they add!
