Raivo Authenticator 4+

I have used this app for years and one morning I wake up, open the app, and it’s blank. I thought I had done something wrong so I logged out and back in and nothing. I saw other reviews of the same issue. I looked at what the developers said and they said to update to 110.4, so I did and still not fixed. I saw another dev reply and they asked to email them for help. I emailed them very respectfully and two days went by and no reply. I followed up saying that I have been waiting patiently and please help and two days later I have still heard nothing. This is extremely disappointing. I understand mistakes happen but at this point with no reply I’m rating this app a 1 and lower if it was possibly. This type of app is not a place to make this type of mistake and not help the users. I do not recommend this app and do not trust this company.

App was great for years. It has since then changed ownership and no word on the future of this being open source software anymore. Also the new update deletes all previous data (made it easier for me to make the decision to switch really 🤷‍♂️). Luckily I make a backup JSON file regularly so I was able to easily switch to another open source app called 2Fas. 2Fas works great and there is another open source app I will be trying out called Ente Auth. If you only use Apple products then Tofu is also another good open source option. You have options to switch and this new update with it deleting everything just makes for an easier decision to switch 👍.

What USED to be a very simple and efficient OTP app turned in to a piece of garbage that vis now a money grab. Previous owner of this, which was more or less a one-person open source project, was bought out by an overseas company quite seriously in the dead of night.

What used to be a pretty active project on github had all of its PRs and discussions deleted on github AND the negative reviews on here were deleted too. All the negative reviews popping up over the past few days are only recent because the new owners don't want any negative PR.

Do not get this app. The new owners are incredibly shady. The fact they're now forcing their users to pay up to recover their keys is ghoulish of them.
