Simply a must-have

Syntaxity,

Since finally trying Blackthorn Castle last year, I was thoroughly impressed by the lack of glitches, smoothe gameplay with a functional and easy to use User Interface, explorative setting locations, challenging yet not too difficult to beat, quality graphics, realistic style, sound effects and music as well as the adventurous nature of these games. One after the other, I tried each game and delightfully found the same satisfaction in all (current) six.

Then, you released your bountiful update for the Lost Ship, which was originally much too short. Now seeing the pattern of adding similar updates and extra content, in order of original release, I eagerly await more to be released.

If I had to describe these games, in as few words, I would say they are honestly must-haves and instant buys for this genre. If a new game were to be released, I would buy it as soon as I found out about it. Having them all up to now is not enough because they are so satisfying. But there's more.

I discovered an interesting alternative to their replay value. Sure once you play them you might get tired. I liked Blackthorn so much I kept replaying it, but with an unexpected challenge I put to myself. Memory. I've repeatedly played them several times each as a way to stregthen my memory

So, I look forward to each new game/additional content Syntaxity releases. To be honest, you couldn’t release add-on or new game content fast enough.

Thank you.

Decent Puzzler

I like the Syntaxity apps. While they’re not at the level of the Room series or the House of DaVinci Games (with their immersive rendered environments), they all are a decent way to pass a few hours, using your brain. The puzzles in Rescue the Enchanter are occasionally clever, but aren’t exceedingly difficult, and even the most challenging have a solution clue hidden somewhere.

The map in this game is quite large, and if you haven’t paid to upgrade to the “Fast Map” functionality, it can get tedious porting clues/items back and forth across the four game areas. Also, if you’re looking for puzzles to solve and not so much storytelling, this game will suit, as there are plenty of puzzles. My only caveat would be to look closely at the walls and floors in every new area you discover, since clues are sometimes hidden in dark wall patches, or behind mismatched wall/floor materials. Just knowing that going in can save you some frustrating “what now?” moments.

Overall, this is a solid, fun puzzler. If you haven’t tried Syntaxity apps, and you just want to try one, I might start with Enchanted Worlds, and then Blackthorne Castle, both of which I think are slightly more challenging than Rescue.

Overall a pretty great point and click style adventure game

I think it can work for a wide range of people. It's not incredibly complicated or difficult but has enough to make it still pretty fun for a point and click adventure game. I like the option to skip some of the mini games if they are driving you nuts or happen to be something you aren't good at. I also like that the built in hints generally just help you figure out which place to go back to instead of telling you what to do. At a certain point the game map gets so big that even if you get an item you identify as something you can use somewhere but you might not know the exact screen and would end up spending tons of time just trying it - hence why the hints and the map feature are pretty useful. My only recommendation to the developers would be to make it so you can get a different hint if you are having difficulties with the one as the game is - ib ways - non-linear as you can do different things at different times. Overall though, I like it, and as long as the games like this from them stay around the $3ish mark and last this long I will definitely buy again.
