Finally a workout app I can get behind

I find it really helpful to have my workouts written out before heading into the gym AND there are videos to follow along with. This is kind of standard for these apps but where Shreddy prevails is in having a tracker for your weights used, a community chat (where I’ve made actual friends), and additional workout videos you can follow along with. What really sold this for me was that the meal plans are vegan and plentiful. Any other app I’ve tried pretends to have ‘vegan’ and ‘vegetarian options’ but in reality it’s 2 basic meals on repeat. Shreddy has very thoughtful meals that are easy to prepare and are darn tasty.

There have, of course, been minor glitches with the app. BUT what I think is amazing is how darn fast the developers/app team has responded to fixing them. What I appreciate is that they really listen to their users and have been pumping out updates and fixes. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this app. Shout out to the hard working Shreddy team

Buyer Beware!! Subscription Issues!

Honestly the app itself deserves 3 stars. It’s great if you are starting out in fitness but the app itself is glitchy, confusing, and the meals that are included have insanely small portions that seem borderline unhealthy. I’m giving this a 1 star though due to their terrible customer service and sketchy subscription.

The way they do their subscription is very slimy and unethical. I canceled my subscription on the Apple store months ago and received a notification that I was charged the annual subscription fee again. Since I didn’t cancel my membership on their website as well, my subscription was still considered “live.” They don’t send you a notification saying when your subscription is about to be renewed, only after they charge you. I sent them an email about this and they essentially told me that I should have read the Terms & Conditions more closely (which they intentionally make very difficult to navigate) and they wouldn’t refund me. BUT I get my subscription until October 2021, so I should be happy about that. It is incredibly disappointing that the company is so shady about their subscriptions. I’m going to have to file a claim with my bank to attempt to get my money back. There are many more issues with my experience with this subscription but buyers please please PLEASE beware of how shady this company is being with subscriptions before you purchase.

Having to cancel on our website may be required because your web subscription is not linked to the Apple / Google account you are using on your mobile device. Great Content, App needs work!

I love the workouts and recipes provided, and the weekly setup and ability to change workout days and meals. But there are a lot of things I think the app is missing. For starters, I would love to see a rest timer that can be used in between sets and not just in between exercises. A timer that you can add or subtract 5 or 10 seconds from if needed, and that has some sort of bell or signal when the timer is done. Also when selecting the reps done for an exercise, if you change the number of reps, it saves that number for your next set, but I would expect it to reset to the original number each time since that is the number you’re supposed to be doing. For the meals page, it would be nice to have access to the total macros and calories of your selected meals so that I don’t have to look at each recipe separately and add them up. It could be a button you see at the bottoms that simply says “View nutrition” that way, like Grace wanted, the numbers aren’t all in your face. And lastly, my app never crashes, but if I leave the app during a workout it takes a few seconds to load back up, even if I just open my notifications bar. Would love to see a more seamless transition there.
