Stop refreshing. Start reading. Simple RSS+ brings your favorite websites directly to you with push notifications. Never miss breaking news, blog posts, or updates again.
Why Simple RSS Push+?
Widgets
Put your headlines on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. Choose Headlines for a list, or Spotlight for one story shown large with its image. Pick which feeds, folders, bookmarks or saved searches each widget draws from, set its background color and text size, and choose how often it rotates through your articles. Tap any headline to open that article. Widgets are a one-time in-app purchase.
Push Notifications
Get alerted about new articles. Customize alerts per feed - choose which sources notify you and which stay quiet. Tap a notification to open the article it is about.
Discover
Not sure where to start? Discover is a hand-picked catalog of feeds in twenty categories - News, Technology, Science, Design, Gaming, Retro Computers and more. Tap as many as you like and add them in one go. The catalog is published in 19 languages, and each one is its own set of feeds rather than a translation of the same list, so you can switch to the Japanese, German, Korean or Brazilian catalog and find what people there actually read.
Two Columns on a Wide Screen
Open an iPhone Duo, or turn an iPhone Air on its side, and the article opens beside its list - tap a headline on the left, read on the right, and tap another to swap it in place. Your feeds, your bookmarks and your saved searches all work this way, and one button sends the article full screen when you want the whole page. Settings and Find Articles use both columns too.
Beautiful Themes
Three themes to read in: Aqua, Classic, and Terminal in green, amber or chrome. Aqua and Classic follow your system's light and dark setting, or stay on the one you prefer. The app icon changes to match your theme, or keeps the default if you would rather it did not.
Stay Organized
Group feeds into folders. Save articles to bookmarks. Create bookmark folders for your research, recipes, or reading list - whatever you need.
Ignore Filters
Tired of a topic? Hide or delete articles by a word in the title or author, feed by feed, with case-sensitive and whole-word matching. A review screen shows you exactly what is being hidden before anything is deleted.
Import and Export
Take your subscriptions with you as OPML - custom feed names, folders, saved searches and your own ordering all come across.
Smart Search
Search across all your feeds or just specific ones. Save searches to instantly find new matching articles every time you open them.
Share Anywhere
Share articles or open them in your preferred browser - all without leaving the app.
Built-in Browser
Read full articles in-app, with ad blocking that clears banners, pop-ups and the video players that follow you down the page. One tap to open externally when you need it.
Read Faster
Mark all as read with one tap. Auto-hide read articles. Touch and hold any feed or folder for quick actions. Spend less time managing, more time reading.
Languages: English, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese
RSS is not dead - it is the best way to take control of your news. No algorithms. No ads. Just the content you chose, delivered when it is published.
Finally a simple reader with nice interface with real push notifications! Loved the terminal theme!
Alright, it’s working again now
Nickname-o
I’m the reviewer that said the app stopped working months back. The app is now working for me again. One RSS feed started working, and the second RSS feed started working after I deleted and re-added it. Thank you.
Developer Response
Maybe the feed you are trying to add, not the app. More info would be helpful mailing the support.
Not instant. keeps freezing my iphone
StevCano
The app works ok. I do not think it's worth $3.99 but considering the lack of other apps with notifications I decided to buy it because of my past use of the original simple RSS app. Works just like the previous version except that it's nicer looking. there is always room for improvement. But theres one big problem going on with this app. Atleast once a day this app freezes my phone rendering my iphone useless for like 4 mins while i wait for it to force close on its own. Its real annoying cause when this happens im unable to do anything on phone. I cant open app switcher. I cant go home. I cant leave app. This is a serious problem and needs to be fixed asap.
It's a bit too simple

I have a large list of feed I follow on Feedly, formerly Google Reader, but this app requires you to manually install all of them again. There is no "logon with Feedly" or Google option. This is stimple, basic, barebones, and not really worth the 99 cents. I created an account, whatever that amounts too, and all it gives me is the ability to have web app that allows me to view everything in a browser Again, that's what I have Feedly for. interface is meh, has very little features other than font size. It is simple, this is true, and it does notify. But certainly not a good buy for 99 cents.
Discover - feeds worth reading, with no address to type.
BROWSE POPULAR FEEDS
- Tap + and then Browse popular feeds to open a hand-picked catalogue in your language: news, technology, science, gaming and more.
- Catalogues in 19 languages. Choose a category, tick as many feeds as you like, and add them all in one go.
- Feeds you already have are left out of the list, so you never add the same one twice.
NOTIFICATIONS THAT LAND
- Reopen the app with a notification waiting and it fetches those articles right away, instead of sitting out the refresh interval.
- Background refresh now answers iOS properly every time, so the badge and the widgets keep up with your feeds.
EVERYWHERE ELSE
- Switching theme recolours the article you are reading in place.
- On a folded iPhone Duo the bottom bar spreads across the full width of the screen.
- Many corrections to the Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese throughout the app.
