WHAT IT DOES
SpreadSplit takes a landscape PDF — like a scanned book spread or a two-up document — and splits each page down the middle into two separate portrait pages. The result is a clean, correctly-ordered PDF ready for reading, sharing, or archiving.

2. The app auto-detects the split point using content analysis
3. Drag the red line to fine-tune if needed
4. Choose page order: left→right for Western books, right→left for manga

Ratings & Reviews

- Added support for PDF security restrictions. Restricted documents are now detected and clearly flagged.
- Smarter PDF handling - Pages with rotation metadata (scanned exams, landscape spreads) now split correctly. Previously, rotated pages could produce blank or reversed output.
- Improved thumbnail sidebar - Thumbnails now display at a consistent height with widths proportional to each page's aspect ratio — so a two-page landscape spread appears naturally wider than a single portrait page. Narrower pages are centered for a cleaner look.
- Sidebar remembers your layout - The sidebar width is now saved between sessions. Resize it once, and it stays that way every time you open the app.
- Open With support - You can now open PDFs directly from Finder using "Open With → SpreadSplit", or drag a file onto the app icon in the Dock.
