Editors’ Choice

Friendly competition with a like-minded sporting community is a big part of Strava’s appeal. More than just a GPS, Strava shares your rides and runs automatically, so it’s low maintenance. See your rank on your favorite segment, join distance challenges, and follow your friends, pros, and even foes. As they say, “If it’s not on Strava, it didn’t happen.”

Bugs bugs bugs ... understand your customers better and focus on quality

Strava conceptually is great but far too many bugs in each new distribution - agree with other comments that the mobile experience is a big let down as a subscriber ... lack of attention to quality with data which seems to imply Strava doesn’t understand its customers by messing up the most important aspects of the mobile experience.
Take the current issues with relative effort - dates are wrong ... instead of the week ending yesterday relative effort today was simply added to last week. Basic oversight.
Groups and social aspects in the app are broadly useless - i.e. floods of useless emails about people starting discussions associated to events (NYRR a good example) that cannot be turned off because the flags in the app don’t work to toggle on/off emails and push notifications. Super annoying and again it would seem to be a basic oversight.

The full web version is awesome and has a lot of additional data and tools which would be great mobile. If Microsoft can do a slick job on Power BI showing more complex data sets then surely this is something Strava can look at.

Love it but bummed out

I love strava & will continue to use the app but am disappointed with recent updates. I really enjoyed the leaderboard & monthly comparisons, which can now only be accessed through subscription. I would consider becoming a subscriber because I am a huge fan, but the cost has been a deterrent. I can understand their decision to try & make the app more profitable. However, I think they should have given longtime users the option of buying those features at a lower cost. I am simply someone who loves running. But I am not training for anything & given the surgeries I’ve had it is unlikely I ever will. Some of the other subscribed features may not suitable for me because of that. I want to support the app but I just don’t think the price is that accessible to everyone. I understand $60/year isn’t much, but when you’re a newly unemployed college student it’s difficult justifying that extra expense. I still really enjoy the app, I just hope these changes don’t alter how much I use it. I think if i never experienced those features I might feel differently. I am sad to see them go. Wish there was more of a middle ground for less competitive individuals.
