Select a supported file, press Space, and get a readable preview with syntax colors, line numbers, and real text you can select and copy. QUICK LOOK FOR CODE Read the file before deciding whether you need to open it. Syntax Look supports 150+ file types, including Swift, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript (.tsx, .cts), Rust, Go, Java, C/C++, Objective-C, Ruby, PHP, CSS, JSON, YAML, TOML, Markdown, SQL, GraphQL, Dockerfile, Terraform, Xcode files, dotfiles, lock files, and many more. The file name, language, and size stay visible while you work, and Quick Look's normal Open button remains available when you're ready to continue in your editor or IDE. REAL, SELECTABLE TEXT Syntax Look renders code as native AppKit text rather than a web page or image. Select a function. Copy a configuration value. Grab a block of JSON. Paste it into an editor, terminal, issue, note, or AI assistant without opening the original file first. Text remains selectable and accessible because what you see is real text. Settings live inside the Quick Look preview itself, so once Syntax Look is enabled, there is no separate app window to manage while you work. BUILT FOR REAL PROJECTS Syntax Look handles more than ordinary source files. Preview configuration and data formats such as JSON, YAML, TOML, XML, SQL, GraphQL, plist, entitlements, and .env files, along with project files such as Makefile, Dockerfile, Gemfile, Podfile, Package.resolved, Cargo.lock, .gitignore, and many more. Large files stay responsive by previewing the first 512 KB with a clear truncation notice rather than trying to render an enormous file all at once. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your code stays on your Mac. No account. No analytics. No network requests. No Accessibility permission. No blanket file-system access. Syntax highlighting happens locally on your Mac. ONE-TIME SETUP 1. Open Syntax Look once. 2.
