“My favorite new Mac app of the year” — John Gruber, Daring Fireball
Taska (previously Sonar) is a native Mac app that offers a fast & lightweight alternative to managing tasks from the GitHub or GitLab web UI. Taska can do a lot of what the GitHub or GitLab issues web UI can do, but much faster and much easier!
With our “no strings attached” free trial, Taska is free to use for the first 14 days with no subscriptions, sign-ups, or purchases of any kind required. An annual subscription plan, as well as a one-time purchase, are available after the free trial expires.
Taska's native UI sits on top of GitHub & GitLab’s official API, keeping your data completely secure and retaining 100% compatibility with other team members, whether they’re using Taska or not.

So polished I didn’t realize it was new!

I’m really impressed with the work the Taska team have put in here!A super polished native app to manage my GitHub issues is amazing for keeping in-flow. The fewer web UIs I have to juggle, the better — it means I get to spend more time squashing bugs and adding features. The GitHub UI really slows me down and frustrates me, so I hope to see this support PR management someday too — pushing a commit then cmd-tabbing back into Taska to double-check and leave comments would be super cool. It’s much more work to ship a full PR experience than to ship just issues, so I don’t expect it, but it would be great! ❤️
Fantastic app for individual repos, but missing Projects!

I would gladly give this app 5 stars, but currently it’s not usable for me cause all of my apps span multiple repos, across different architectures, so we reply on the GitHub Projects to manage the entire app scope and roadmap. Without that, I still need to have the GitHub web app open… and as nice as it is, single tool wins over 2 tools, regardless of how much better (and native) one of those tools is. I believe any app that focuses on issue tracking really requires project support as projects add so much additional metadata and context compared to the core issue parameters. As for single repo issue tracking, or for issue only repo’s, this app is amazing and has a much nicer flow than the website. Truly a pleasure to use.I purchased this app to support its development, regardless. 🤞 Hopefully someday project support will come. 🙏(Honestly, if you guys just wrapped the web app project screens in a Taska view and intercepted the issue url links to redirect to the native issue pages, that would be enough to at least stay in one tool and not jump back and forth between apps and manually loading. It’s really the tapping of Issue links from a project that is the blocker, cause I have to manually open the issue in Taska if I want to use it.)
Don’t need it, but I like it anyway

Taska is a very nice native Mac interface for turning your GitHub Issues and Milestones into something that feels more like a traditional task tracker. I use it for all of my personal open source projects and while it is not exactly necessary for me to do any of the things I do, I just like it and it keeps me out of the somewhat busy GitHub web interface when I just want to focus on one project and what needs to be done in that project. In May it will have been 1 year since I originally subscribed to the app, and I’m going to keep it going. Taska & GitUp are my go-to apps for classing up my FOSS workflow.
