Taska 2.3 adds file attachments, a Recently Updated view, and new ways to create tasks from other apps. NEW • Attach files: drop or paste images and videos into any description or comment, and they upload straight to GitHub or GitLab. A placeholder stands in the text while a file uploads. • A formatting toolbar in every Markdown editor: headings, bold, italic, quotes, code, links, and bulleted, numbered, and task lists. • Recently Updated: a new sidebar view (⌃⌘R) that shows the tasks updated in the last 7 days, newest first. • Create tasks from other apps: share selected text or a link to Taska from any app's Share menu, or choose Services › New Task in Taska. • Milestone Improvements: add a description to a milestone, and edit existing milestones in the same sheet you create them in. Milestone headers regain the + button to add a task right there, and gain a ⋯ menu (also on right-click) to edit, close, or open the milestone on the web. Hover over a header to see its description. IMPROVED • Repository windows reselect the task you last had selected. • The timeline shows the commit that closed an issue. • Copy commands preview what they copy, and there are new formats. A Terminal-safe version of the Fixed commit message is also available. • Smart filters: text conditions now offer “does not contain”, and dates offer “is in the last 7 days”. • ⌘↩ creates the task in the New Task window and posts the comment in the New Comment window, and both windows now support Undo. • “Create More” keeps the next task's labels, assignees, and milestone, and AI title suggestions stop as soon as you start typing your own. • Closing a window or quitting with untitled new tasks now offers to show them first, and unsaved tasks can be deleted with Task › Delete Task…. • Images in descriptions and comments are cached on disk, Quick Look opens reliably on double-click, and images in renamed private repositories load again. • The Activity view is now called Notifications (GitHub repositories). • The Dock menu can open your repositories. • Taska uses less memory with large repositories. • For coding agents using the Taska MCP: list_comments now includes commits that reference an issue, and tools reject unknown arguments and names instead of ignoring them.

Taska 2.2 brings your issues to Spotlight, Shortcuts, and Siri. NEW • Find issues in Spotlight: search by title, issue number, label, or repository name, and open the result straight into its own window. Closed issues are included, ranked below open ones. • Shortcuts and Siri actions: Open Issue, Show in Repository, Copy Issue Link, Open Issue on Web, Search Issues, Create Issue, Add Comment, and Close Issue. Most are also available as quick actions on Spotlight results. • Redesigned Repository Settings. Choose per repository whether its issues appear in Spotlight (Repository Settings › Extensions). IMPROVED • Searching for an issue number now finds that exact issue instead of burying it among partial matches. • Repositories with auto-save turned off now behave consistently. • Opening an issue in its own window no longer drops you straight into editing its title. • For coding agents using the Taska MCP: issues now include priority and milestone IDs, lists can be filtered by type and priority, label and assignee filters no longer miss older issues in large repositories, and text search now includes Gitea and Codeberg repositories.

DESIGNED FOR MACOS 27 Taska fully embraces the updated Liquid Glass design. Task controls now live in the main toolbar, and the sidebar, task list, and inspector end in translucent bars that content scrolls beneath. Menus are lighter, showing icons only where they genuinely help. MORE CONSISTENT, MORE CONTROL Group By, Sort By, and Quick Filters have been added to the menu, with submenus to show or hide individual groups, and tasks can now be grouped by priority. Smart filters are a menu command away, milestones can be set from the context menu, and Type, Milestone, and Priority use the same icons and wording everywhere. Many details were refined throughout the app. UNDER THE HOOD Syncing after a fetch is faster and leaner, and issue types stay current without repeated requests. Also fixed: a freeze when clicking into text fields, GitHub write-access checks, window tab restoration, and emoji shortcodes that showed as text.

Taska connects to the tools you already use. Commits open in Kaleidoscope or the app of your choice, and links in tickets can be rewritten to open in custom apps. * Extensions. All write actions are gated by a new "Allow Write Access" permission in Settings ▸ Extensions, off by default. • Smart Filters refresh: give each filter its own icon and color to stand out in the sidebar, add a new filter-by-Type row, and enjoy a freshly modernized edit sheet. • Type, everywhere it should be: group tasks by Type, set it from the Task menu, and find Group by and Sort by in the View menu. • Fixes a sporadic issue where inspector edits like milestone, priority, or type could be dropped or land on the wrong task when switching selection quickly.

By default, new tasks open in their own window, letting you prepare multiple tasks at once. Prefer the old inline behavior? You can switch back in Settings—and pressing Enter in the list still works as before. For a new task, start by writing what needs to be done and why. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence will automatically suggest a task title based on your description, with multiple alternatives to choose from. You can always enter a title manually—but you might be surprised how often the suggestion fits perfectly. We also refined the user experience on macOS Tahoe in a few places, re-enabled resizing on the Inspector sidebar, enahnced tab window restoration, and made GitHub ticket templates more reliable.
