I use this for text recognition, often of foreign languages. I can copy the output into a translation app or online site, and what would take me a long time to type correctly is there at my fingertips.

Solid OCR app

I use this mainly for simplified Chinese OCR, and it works really great. Definitely worth the subscription which I think is priced generously. I tried a few others on the Mac App Store, and this is the one I will stick with.The reason I rated 4 instead of 5 are a few small things:- When you paste the text into a word processor, it doesn't preserve the spaces between line breaks, even if you made extra line breaks in the editable text field. So you have to do that yourself after you paste the scanned text- Spacing around quotation marks is sometimes wrong- Sometimes when the text being scanned has ellipses, the OCR will either remove the next character or will put the wrong oneIf those get fixed, I'll update to 5 because it would be pretty much perfect at that point

I’m not much experienced with OCR, but I had an image of a typewriter-written page of dense type, and this app converted it to text almost flawlessly. There were a few minor corrections needed, like indents, but these were easily corrected, and anyway wouldn’t affect readability or meaning if not corrected. The spelling was perfect!

The accuracy is pretty nice and UX is straight forward. I like to use this kind of green software. Just a little suggestion: for onboarding users this software lacks some of the self explanatory stuff such as tool tips, etc. I would rate 4.5 but can only give 4.
