Texty for Google Messages 4+

This is a great app that does what it advertises well but I removed a star because of the subscription pricing scheme for the app. Please introduce a one time purchase for the pro version of the app or remove the subscription altogether. Yes it is cheap but overtime $.99 every month will add up to more than the service is actually worth. If it was say five dollars for a one time purchase of the pro features I would buy it in a heartbeat.

The good: This works ok for the most part. It will text on behalf of Google Messages. The appearance and format is similar enough to Google Messages that they flow well between the two.
The bad: It’s glitchy, slow, and takes a while to load. There is no search feature. Often times while typing the words will be lagging behind keystrokes. It takes a really long time to pull up a contact name, and every time, without fail, I have to click the contact twice before it adds it to the message recipient box. (Hey, good grades for consistency…) And WORST of all, this repeatedly asks me time and time again (multiple times per week) to pair my phone, even though every single time I have “remember this computer” checked when pairing. This gets old and very irritating.
This app is frustrating, the bad outweighs the good, and every time I click on it I am hesitant.
But there is nothing else out there to compete with this, so here it will stay.

Well, Google Messages was my old faithful, until it stopped working. This isn’t about that :) but at a quick glance and first use, I find Texty to be easier and faster to use — and the image zoom view is more capable: I can even download images sent and received to ~/Downloads.
It’s an A in my book.
