Ratings and Reviews
elegant and simple time tracker
I’ve been trying to look for a time tracker that allows me to review how much time I’ve spent on several tasks in a graphical format, and this does exactly that! I ended up buying the premium version, which is IMO a bit pricey at $20, but at least its lifetime and not a subscription (thank god). I’ve been using this to track how much time I spend on each task (e.g. practice problems, flashcards, assignments) and it’s SO helpful. It really puts into perspective just how much time you spend on these things each day. I really think that this could help some other people that really want a simple time tracker (that works offline too!)
Almost the time tracker of my dreams!
I wanted a simple, macOS-native app to track and organize my timekeeping records, and this well-designed app has delivered! For my use-case, it leaves three features to be desired: 1) It would be fantastic to have a “calendar view” of your records in addition to the list view. 2) While I appreciate the option to keep records locally secure, an optional cloud-syncing feature would be helpful. For me, the privacy gains of local storage are outweighed by the fragility of locally stored documents. Knowing my records are continuously backed up online would give me peace of mind. 3) While I personally don’t need to track time across multiple devices, if I ever do, I will have to switch from Tim to another product. As far as I can tell, there’s no way to have synchronicity across multiple devices or even multiple user accounts on a single device with Tim. A fourth bonus suggestion would be to assign a default shortcut to the Navigator feature and surface it to the user a little more - it might be the best useful feature in the app, but it’s buried in the “Window” section of the menu bar, and you have to assign a shortcut to it yourself in settings. Overall, it’s a fantastic app that I will continue to use and recommend to others. But these features would perfect it!
Developer Response ,
Thank you for the feedback! You can currently set your backups directory to iCloud Drive if you would like to store them in the cloud for peace of mind.
Excellent, lightweight time tracker
I'm a freelance copy-editor and proofreader and have been looking for a simple menubar app to track time that wasn't clogged up with a zillion other features and linked to a website with all sorts of power I didn't need or want. After trying maybe a dozen, included several free and paid ones, this is my favorite, I prefer it to to Clockify, Toggl, Timing, GigEconomy, and many others. Granted, for people with a more complicated freelance life, something with more power might be needed. This app is excellent at the few things it does well. Easily worth 2$.
