One clock face with both sets of numbers on it. Drag the hands and watch 3 o'clock become 15:00, with the sky behind the face moving to match the hour.
Most apps that teach the clock teach one clock. They drill the 12-hour face, or they show a digital readout, and the jump between the two — half past three is 15:30 — gets left for somebody to explain at the kitchen table.
Time Tutor puts both on the same face. The hours you say out loud sit on the inner ring, the hours you write down sit on the outer one, and the same hand points at both. Drag it round and 3 becomes 15 in front of you.
HOW IT WORKS
Drag either hand and the sky behind the face slides from night through morning to afternoon and back, with a sun and a moon crossing it as the hours pass. The time gets a feel as well as a number.
Read it three ways at once. Above the face: 15:00, then "3:00 in the afternoon", then AFTERNOON. Nothing is hidden behind a tap.
Tap AM / PM to jump twelve hours. That is the +12 rule as a single button, which is usually the moment it lands.
THREE LEVELS
Easy shows every number — hours 1 to 12 in amber, 13 to 24 in indigo, minutes in fives. Medium drops the minute marks. Hard leaves the plain 12-hour face on its own and you supply the rest.
THE QUIZ
Each question is either "set the clock to 16:45" or a jump: take twenty-five minutes off where the hands are now. Check marks it. Show me the answer moves the hands there and explains the arithmetic rather than congratulating you, then moves on to the next one.
BUILT TO STAY STILL
The face never reflows. The active hour and minute are marked with a disc behind the number, so nothing scales, nothing jumps, and nothing shifts under a finger mid-drag. The difficulty tabs stay pinned to the top and the quiz bar keeps its slot at the bottom whether a quiz is running or not.
TWO HANDS, OR ONE AT A TIME
By default the hands are linked like a real clock: sweep the minute hand and the hour follows it round. Switch that off in Settings and each hand moves alone — the minute hand wraps inside the current hour, and the hour hand steps whole hours without touching the minutes.
A five-step walkthrough runs on first launch, and replays from Settings whenever a new person picks the app up.
NO ACCOUNT, NO NETWORK, NO ADS
Time Tutor does not sign you in, does not collect anything, and does not need a connection. You pay once and that is it — there is nothing to buy inside it, and no subscription. It works on a plane, in a classroom with no wifi, and on a phone in aeroplane mode.
VoiceOver reads the face, and both hands are adjustable with it.
