Srsly, I massively used some online services for that, because type in russian with an brazilian macbook keyboard is a no-no, even with the `russian phonetic keyboard layout`, it just does't work.Now I just type and click the up arrow. I like this app because from what I found, it’s the only one on the app store that offers offline transliteration. However, the way it’s done is not the best. It would have been much easier to use if as one types in english letters, the transliterated text appeares immediately, instead of requiring the user to click to transliterate. It constantly keeps you wondering if you typed something legiable, or complete gibberish before you press the button.
