Version 2 makes up to a billion unique codes at a time. Design your own patterns and see the chance of guessing a code before you start.
The free version makes up to 1,000 codes at a time. A one-time purchase lets you make up to 1 billion codes at a time, with free updates and no subscription.
Unique Code Generator makes as many unique codes as you need on your Mac, in the format you choose.
Use them for voucher and promo codes, on-package promotions, loyalty programs, contest entries, tickets, serial numbers, invite codes and PINs.
FAST
• Millions of codes in seconds and up to 1 billion at a time.
• • Codes are saved to a .txt or .csv file, ready for a spreadsheet, database or website, or for your print software.
UNIQUE
• No two codes in a file are the same. Uniqueness is built into how the codes are made rather than checked afterwards, so you always get the number you asked for.
• Each run starts from a new random key, so seeing some codes won't help anyone guess others.
YOUR FORMAT
• Choose a ready-made character set or type your own. The default leaves out characters that look alike, such as 0 and O or 1 and I.
• Set a length or design a pattern such as PROMO-^^^^-^^^^ with fixed text, letters, numbers and symbols in the positions you choose.
• Hexadecimal, UUID-style and emoji character sets are included too.
BLOCKED WORDS
• Block profanity is on by default. It also catches words spelled with look-alike numbers and symbols.
• Add your own words to block, such as competitor names.
• Codes containing a blocked word are skipped, so the file still has the number of codes you asked for.
ESTIMATES
• Before you start, see how many codes are possible, the chance of someone guessing a valid code, the file size and roughly how long it will take.
• You'll get a warning if your codes would be too easy to guess.
FILES
• Text or CSV with an optional header row.
• Mac & Linux or Windows line endings.
• Start codes with a letter so spreadsheets don't drop a leading 0 or read codes as formulas.
• A check that there's enough disk space before writing.
PRIVATE
Everything happens on your Mac. There's no account to create and nothing needs an internet connection. No data is collected.

doesn't work for less than 6 characters
Reallylouseywasteof$$$$$$$
Bought this to do a specific 5 character, 4-length code. Has a minimum of 6 alowable characters.
Developer Response
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry it took so long. Version 2.0 has no minimum, so you can use as few allowable characters as you like. A 4-character code from 5 characters works fine. As you bought version 1, version 2.0 is free for you.

UPDATED:Still no updates…-----Hopefully by next update, this app will be worth more stars and a recommendation. This app will generate unique codes based on the characters you have entered (manual and/or pre-defined), then output the codes to a text-based file. That is it, period. That is worth your $5?The problem is that if you use symbols (and numbers in some cases), the keys can start with those symbols(i.e.: -FF908, as opposed to FF-908).This a problem for many reasons, but I'm just going to list two:1) Excel (and some DB systems/interfaces) can strip off 0's or other non-alpha characters prefixing a string.2) These are extremely unsightly and *NOT* something that you want to give out to customers/clients.The solution is to add constraints, either on the main mainViewWindow of this app, or in Preferences (which doesn't exist yet). Something similar to: Must not begin with: number/alpha/symbol. etc.For 4.99, this app is way overpriced (should be 0.99). You can make something almost identical in PHP or Perl with nested loop structures. All that's needed is a conditional check that the user's constraints are met, if not, toss that code.If this app is updated with this important feature (along with others), I'd gladly change my review and recommend.
Developer Response
Thanks for the suggestions. In version 2.0 you can make codes always start with a letter, which also stops spreadsheets dropping leading zeros. You can also use patterns such as XX-999 to set what goes in each position. As you bought version 1, version 2.0 is free for you.
Version 2 is a complete rewrite.
• Up to 1 billion codes at a time.
• Code patterns such as PROMO-^^^^-^^^^.
• A profanity filter plus your own blocked words.
• Live sample codes and estimates, including the chance of guessing.
• CSV header row, line-ending choice and a disk-space check.
• Longer codes plus hexadecimal, UUID-style and emoji character sets.
• A new design with dark mode.
• Free to try with a one-time unlock. Version 1 owners are already unlocked.
