Edit code projects with syntax highlighting. Chat uses your OpenAI or Groq keys, or Ollama on your network. Optional tools read the folder you opened.
ZenCoder is a native macOS workspace for working inside a project folder: open files as tabs, edit with syntax highlighting, find and replace in the active file, and keep work on disk with autosave.
A built-in Agents column runs chat against APIs you configure:
OpenAI (Chat Completions–compatible)
Groq (same wire format, fast hosted inference)
Ollama on your machine or LAN (HTTP API)
You supply API keys (stored in the Keychain). ZenCoder does not include bundled paid model access.
Privacy-minded workflow: pick a folder once (security-scoped bookmark). Optionally let the assistant list directories, read files, and search text under that folder—on demand—so you are not pasting the whole tree into every message. You can attach screenshots and files to a prompt when needed.
ZenCoder is built for developers who already use OpenAI/Groq or self-host Ollama and want a lightweight editor + assistant next to their tree—not a full IDE replacement.
