ZSTsecure is built for Zstandard: encrypt .zst and .tar.zst with a password, decrypt .zst.enc, and compress other files to encrypted ZST.
ZSTsecure — encryption for Zstandard, on your Mac
ZST (Zstandard) is an excellent compressor — but the ecosystem rarely offered a simple, native way to password-protect ZST data on macOS. ZSTsecure is built to fill that gap: it’s the first Mac app centered on encryption for ZST, so you can treat .zst / .tar.zst like first-class, lockable archives.
What you can do
Plain .zst / .tar.zst / .tzst — set an encryption password and produce .zst.enc (and matching .tar.zst.enc / .tzst.enc names) next to the originals.
.zst.enc files — decrypt with your password, then decompress and unpack (including tar-in-zst when applicable).
Other files and folders — compress to ZST, then encrypt the result and remove the unencrypted intermediate, so you keep a single encrypted artifact.
Security (plain language)
AES-256-GCM for confidentiality and integrity.
Key derivation with salt and PBKDF2 — your password isn’t stored in the file as plaintext.
Chunked encryption so large files are handled safely in streaming fashion.

Drag-and-drop and Finder integration.
Optional handling of nested archives (e.g. ZIP inside a folder) when you’re compressing to ZST — not when you’re decrypting a .zst.enc.
