The Tips page has short videos for the basics now: farming, fishing, gift wrapping, food, talking, skill points and quests. Open your bag, tap the speech bubble, pick a tip and press Watch. Farming has its own tip, right at the top of the list. Tips fit the page at every text size, and the fishing tip now shows in your language.

The book has a new Tips page. Every tip you have seen is there to read again. Fishing and food have pictures, and fishing has a short video. You now hold your rod the whole time you fish, pull when a fish bites, and reel it all the way in when you catch it. The night report says how many hearts a hungry night costs. The stairs in your shop need a press while the shop is open. Email us now asks first, then fills in your game version for you.

If you allow it, Duskroot can remind you at six in the evening: once a day for a week after you last played, then at two weeks and at a month. Turn them off in your phone's settings. Eda leaves a small gift at your door the first time you open the game each day. The third and seventh are bigger. Once day one is done, opening the game on a new day moves your farm on by one night. The first day is shorter, your first radish is ready the next morning, and wrapping takes a lighter swipe.

Mining with a full book now tells you the truth. If there is no room for a new kind of ore, the first swing says so and the vein stays put. Before, it said the gem went into your sack, and then it was gone. The merchant now buys a whole shelf in one go when your price is fair or better, so selling takes far less waiting. Both came from a player who wrote in. Thank you.

Fishing now tells you what to do. Reeling in asks for a different move to the rest of the cast, and the game never said so. Conversations have a Done button, so you can tell when one has ended. You no longer walk over the top of buildings. You pass behind them properly now. All three came from a player who wrote in. Thank you.

The game now shows you how to walk. A faint ring sits where your thumb goes on the left, and Halden says it too. The skill tree takes touch. Tap a star to pick it, then tap again to spend the point. Drag to move the sky, pinch to zoom. Branches stay on screen when you zoom in now. The gold count at the top lines up properly again.

iPhone players now get the STATS row in Settings. The anonymous stats show where new players get stuck, so we can make the first day smoother. Nothing that names you is sent. Tap STATS to turn it off.

Duskroot now speaks Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese. The game picks your phone's language by itself. To choose another, open Settings on the title screen and tap LANGUAGE.

The shop now tells you what happened after you buy something. When a purchase goes through, a box comes up to say so, and the product's card says it is yours. If a purchase does not go through, or you cancel, the shop says that too, and says nothing was charged. Tapping Buy says it is asking the store straight away, so the button never looks dead. If the store never answers, the card tells you to try again.

A big update. Quests show in your bag now. Tap the gold ! to see what each one needs and how far along you are. A gold ! over a villager means they have a quest for you. A gold ? means one is ready to hand in. The Duskroot is a real tree at the top of the wood. It grows with what you do, and its roots are the way into the mine. Seasons. The Long Autumn, then a whole year, lights in the windows, and a rite at the roots. A pet. Buy the Menagerie and one follows you into every room. You can name it. Feed the Tree is on sale, and the Duskroot blooms at night. The shop is easier to find. In settings, tap Open on the Shop row. In Pets, tap the dog or cat to get the Menagerie. Milo's price hint and the Rootkeeper's revive now play a short advert, only when you choose to. The speech bubble in the shop tells you what it does first. The Rootkeeper's Pact still makes both free. After your first story wakes the tree, the game may ask once for a rating. Villagers keep hours and tell you their stories. Halden shows you how to run and rearrange your shop, and how to gift wrap at the till. Granny Eda has a fishing job for you, and she tells you how to fish. The town hall has an inside, and the reeve keeps the town's record in a book. New puzzles in the mine. The pond is real water. Autumn and winter look like it. Text is easier to read. Lots of fixes, including a first day bug that could leave you stuck in the field.
