Sehr angenehm aussehende App und viele features

I really like the app, it has all the relevant features i need (syncs my Photos and Videos, provides great sharing options and is super fast) and keeps getting better and better.

I have to say — the idea behind Immich is brilliant. It’s a sleek, self-hosted photo management solution that puts you in control of your digital memories, and the concept of a private, decentralized photo gallery is incredibly appealing, especially for privacy-conscious users. However, the iOS app experience is currently a major letdown.UI/UX: Fails to Meet Modern iOS StandardsThe interface looks outdated, clunky, and frankly unpolished. It doesn’t feel native at all — more like a hastily converted web app. Buttons are poorly spaced, animations are janky, and the overall aesthetic doesn’t even come close to what we’ve come to expect from modern iOS apps. It feels like a prototype rather than a production-ready experience.Performance: Disappointing, Especially RemotelyOpening photos, especially when accessing them remotely, is painfully slow. The app lags, sometimes even crashes, depending on your server setup and internet speed. You’d expect a native iOS app to handle photo loads smoothly — this one struggles to deliver even basic responsiveness.Interaction: Not Native, Not IntuitiveBasic gestures like rotating the screen or opening videos don’t behave like they should. There’s no native iOS feel to these interactions — it’s like the app is fighting against the system rather than working with it. It breaks immersion and makes simple tasks frustrating.Backup & Sync: A Major WeaknessThe backup system feels unstable and poorly documented. Photos sometimes don’t sync correctly, and there’s no clear way to troubleshoot failures. It’s frustrating to lose access to your own memories due to a glitchy backup. The Bottom LineImmich has a fantastic vision — a private, self-hosted photo gallery that puts the user in control. The core functionality is solid, and the idea is revolutionary. But right now, the iOS app experience is not ready for prime time. It’s plagued by poor UI, sluggish performance, and inconsistent behavior — especially when accessing content remotely.Verdict: Don’t use it for daily photo browsing yet. Keep an eye on future updates — the potential is undeniable, but the execution is currently too flawed to recommend. For now, I’m waiting for a proper native iOS overhaul — and I hope it comes soon.

Really love the UI
