Oak helps you decompress by transforming your meditation practice from an experiment into a habit. We support you from your first session to your 500th, with mindful, loving-kindness, and sleep meditations as well as unguided sessions and breathing exercises. Individualize your meditations by duration, and customize with silence or calming background sounds. Oak tracks your progress and encourages you to continue building a healthy meditation practice.

Best meditation app out there

There is no need to subscribe. Oak offers three types of mindfulness exercises: meditation(both: guided and unguided), breathing (both: for calming and refreshing effect) and exercises helping you to sleep and unwind.
These basic features got you covered, you don’t need more. Although more different forms of all the exercises (meditation, breathing and sleeping exercises) would be a nice plus the app is in itself almost perfect.
You have the possibility of using background noise to your liking. (Except: the sleeping exercise won’t start without you choosing a noise. This can be moderately annoying though.) So, you can choose if you want any background noise at all and if so, you can choose from quite a collection.
The interface and design is very clean, suits the purpose of the app and motivates (at least me) to use the app regularly.

There is no freemium scam going on, since the basic content - customizable as it is - offers enough variety, while maintaining a zen-like quality, although sometimes it’d be nice to have more options. Other than that, the app is nearly perfect.
