The Preserver app records observations (audio, text, images, and videos) within a prescribed “Activity”, automatically recording geographic coordinates, an address and a start and end time and date. Whilst the Activity is “open”, your ongoing location is recorded, along with the location of observations that you record during that Activity. The Preserver app only ever records anything whilst an Activity is open. There is never any ongoing tracking or recording of any sort.
The Activity has an Activity Type (think of that like a subject at school), and optionally, a Title (think individual lesson within a subject at school).
Once you end your Activity, it is closed and stored as an immutable artefact, proving your involvement in that Activity. At your discretion, you can share the Activity to your, or someone else’s Google Drive account, or export it as a shareable ZIP archive. The Activity can also be automatically logged as a retrospective appointment in your online calendar, with hyperlinks to the media (observations) that you collected that are now stored on your Google Drive.
An AI ChatBot is incorporated into the app which returns information using ChatGPT 4.0, tailored to the Preserver app.
No data is collected, shared or stored on the Preserver website, App stores, or by anyone else other than the owner/user of the device on which Preserver is installed. Further, personal information of the app user is neither sought nor stored: no names, no credit card details, not anything.
If you wish, we encourage you to share your email address to receive notifications of updates and irregular information about the app.
Finally, the Preserver app is entirely free with no in-app purchases. It is funded with unobtrusive banner ads.
