An ever-changing album that takes you on a journey through a million moodsThis is beautiful! If you love ambient music or want inspiring music to work or chill to - the app is a must-have. It works like a regular music album but there‘s one major difference - it never sounds the same way twice. And here‘s the part that blows my mind: while Sonic Lifeforms keeps generating new music from pre-programmed tracks, it always sounds like it was composed, mixed and mastered from start to finish. As a musician I know how hard that is to achieve. I am impressed: there is nothing random-sounding or repetitive about this music. Just throw on one of the 8 scenes - think of these like tracks on an album - and immerse yourself in a specific world of sound, from Indian flavors to hip-hop-inspired. Then let it run by itself or interact with it: Too calm? Move the playhead freely across the album cover art and create a more rhythmic version of the album as it plays and evolves. Want something more meditative? Tap on another corner and listen to the music gently morph into a different, more quiet sonic landscape. Or just let the playhead wander around automatically and get lost in an ever-evolving soundtrack, that also switches between the scenes for even more variety. It just never gets old and it honestly sounds like someone composed hours and hours of music in one endless flow. A truely innovative way to use technology, and in my opinion a glimpse into the future of how music will be made in collaboration between humans and technology. It‘s addictive. I just wish this was a band and we could go see them live. What a trip that would be!
