Fantastic to have the ability to monitor and control your reticulation from the comfort of your smart phone anywhere in the world. I’m in Italy and I can see exactly what is happening with my watering system back home in Australia. And some exceptional ways to program the controller to get the most out of your watering budget. It still needs work though, for example once having set multiple watering times for a given program, you can’t delete the times, only change them. Once you get the hang of it, it’s fairly easy to work with but there needs to be a manual to make the learning curve easier. Good customer support!
I’m sure future iterations of the app will iron out the problems and improve the ease of use. Overall I’m loving it.

- sometimes can’t connect to device when using Bluetooth and next to units. - I bought 7 units and 1 failed after 11 months in an on position running water for 24 hrs. - the interface needs more intuitive functionality with zones, many people online are confused by it. -The U/I can lead you in circles trying to set up or cancel features. ie. I want my law watered 1 time in am and at 1pm and I’d does it 3 times in the AM and 2 times after lunch. For differing lengths of time 3-12 min. The idea is great wit good options of sprinkler/ plant /soil types etc UI could have simple feature but doesn’t Auto water (on/off) > start time XX:00 Run time XX:00 Rain% delay. Program (on/off) > start time XX:00 Run time XX:00 frequency… Group units or use this program with unit 1 /2/3/6 etc I’d really like this product to work well as it has a lot of potential. If the team from orbit make changes and improvements I will happily modify my review.

I’ve been using my Retic system for many years now without any problems. All 5 stations on the system worked well, functioning as programmed without being connected to WiFi. Then I put it on WiFi to use via the app as I was going overseas, I’ve had problems ever since. Fortunately I tested the system before I left as one station which has two programs now comes on twice, drowning my garden!!! I tried correcting it but couldn’t. Since then I’ve had to put the system on rain days and turn it on manually when needed to do ‘hand watering’. This is very inconvenient especially when I’m overseas. Since returning home the same problem persists even when I’m only using the manual controls. I’d like to be able to go back to how I had it originally but I would also like to have the ability to use the app which would give me peace of mind to be able to leave my garden during the hot summer months knowing I can turn the system on if the garden is needing a bit more watering during a heat wave. I definitely would not recommend using WiFi with this system until there problems have been fixed. September 2024
