Lots of fun
I’ve enjoyed this app for ten years now and it is pretty close to perfect. I’ve very rarely spent any real money and I still play nearly every day.
There are lots of complaints that the numbers are not random. I think this is sour grapes. There are definitely lucky and unlucky “streaks” in any game of chance and I’ve experienced them both in this game. As in the real game, sometimes you silently beg for double six, and you throw a miracle double six. Same in this game.
There is a minor bug, if a player withdraws before the game starts, the app searches for and finds another player but the game fails to load. This happens every time.

Rigged
Most rigged backgammon game. Doesnt matter how good or bad you play, if the game wants you to win or lose that particular game, you will and it’s sooooooo obvious. The random dice will always be the numbers needed over and over and over again for the one who it wants to win no matter what game the determined loser plays… i wish it actually was random because i would then think its worth money to be spent but i warn DO NOT spend money on this game.. UPDATE AFTER DEVELOPERS COMMENTS: there are so many reviews saying the same thing. It is definitely NOT chance. Especially when the numbers the dice roll to is exactly the right amount to make the best moves, then the worst rolls giving you nothing but openings!!! So instaed of writing the same reaponse to everyone saying the same thing, actually fix it and i garauntee that more players will enjoy the game! I can tell from the first or second roll of the dice if it is going to be a losing or winning streak. I have deleted the app and will NEVER download it again. My advice to all is look at all of the reviews and you will know this game is infuriating as it is so rigged!!

Hello, We're sorry to hear that you think the game is rigged. Please note that using RNG (random number generator) ensures that each dice roll is completely random and fair. All Backgammon Live players have the same chances to roll doubles, with no exceptions. We are certain that over a longer period, you would see both “lucky” & “unlucky” streaks.

Don’t Spend Real Money!
Okay I read the reviews then played this game for 4 days to see for myself. The RNG is clearly an algorithm as opposed to a genuine RNG replicating normal dice rolls you would see in real life. Be prepared for miracle rolls on a regular basis. You will also go on winning streaks followed by major losing streaks where you seem to have lots of ‘bad luck’. If you then reduce your bet you will encounter players with slow network connections who take forever to play. Everything is designed to trigger you into spending real money. Don’t do it. Just play for a bit of fun and a laugh but don’t take it serious 😉.
The developers standard response to concerns about dice rolls is “we can assure you that dice rolls in Backgammon Live are determined with a Random Number Generator”. However this does not address whether an algorithm is being used which still allows random dice rolls but with restrictions. So it would be nice if the developer would confirm that EVERY single dice roll in Backgammon Live has 36 possible outcomes. But I suspect a generic response about RNG is all they will provide.
