Big Finish Audiobook Player 17+

I love this app so much. Doctor Who has always been my favourite visual media ever, especially since I was born in 2004 just before the reboot. Audios have introduced me to the more vast and diverse world of Doctor Who and Torchwood which I will always have with me wherever I go. The only thing is that I’ve bought so many through the years, I just don’t have any of them in hard copy box set form, but besides that I hope to be able to find some without spending over my audio budget. My personal favourites are the Diary of river song series, Missy series, Torchwood monthly range, and so so so many others. I would need like three extra paragraphs to just list them, these ones listed were just my first ones I purchased. It’s an amazing app with amazing stories, and this is the only property on the planet where I would do anything to work for the company (especially in the music department). It’s always been a dream of mine to work on the music for these audio dramas since I believe I know these characters extremely well, but listening to all the other people involved like composers, background design and editing makes you appreciate the true craft of audio storytelling.

This app is slightly better than it used to be but a few problems are still causing major issues.

1. Download problems - if the app has a download problem it starts from the beginning again. And as it usually takes multiple attempts to download I use an awful lot of my data.

2. Won’t start - often times I have to delete and re download because the tracks never appeared to let me play the audiobook.

These two errors cost me a great deal of money. I’ve used 10gb this month because of this app not downloading properly. I’ve probably paid the price of the books again in data fees. And because the app can’t cope with intermittent WiFi access without restarting, I have to use my mobile data to download.

The actual books are great. 5 stars for them. 0 stars for app if I could.

Really fantastic to be able to have a smooth way of listening to the many great BF audios. I hope in the near future they can add purchasing and better browsing. On the app (since I think rules around this are changing, as with Audible) but I’m glad to have found this all the same.
