1 hour songs

Came to the gym to play some music i wanted to listen to, and after queuing I saw it would be 5 hours until my song, looking through the queue the last 12 songs were all an hour or longer and running over till 1am, which defeats the purpose of letting the crowd pick what songs to play. Aside from that it’s usually rather functional with some what long search times

Developer Response ,

Hi there, this is very strange and apologies that you couldn't play your music. Could you please email me with the name of the gym and approximately what time you were there so that we can investigate. Bec - hello@crowdDJ.com.au

Good app but bad venues.

Only found two or three venues that allow users to actually pick them music - so do beware that before you download the app. Otherwise apart from that it’s quite fun to have the ability to play your own music. Although me and some random decided it would be funny to queue up 15 mins of Fleetwood Mac songs. 😂

Would you be open to setting a rule on the app about how much control venues have. Like set a limit where guest must be able to choose a certain amount of songs? I just feel like this would get a greater amount of use and enjoyment from all guests while not hindering the choices of the venue too much. Thank you.

Developer Response ,

Hi! Thanks for the great review and all of your feedback. I'm glad you love our app. More venues are adding crowdDJ every day so keep checking. The app would usually only allow someone to choose the same artist twice in a row, so I will check into that. Otherwise, the venue does get to choose the number and type of songs available to ensure that everyone gets to choose and enjoy great music suitable to that location. If have any further feedback please email me via crowdDJ@nightlife.com.au Thanks, Glenn

Needs Apple Watch support

crowdDJ is a neat concept and whilst I too think that the interface is a little clunky, overall crowdDJ works well enough.

It would be great to see some Apple Watch support, so that one could see what is playing / coming up on their Apple Watch or better yet, request music via their Apple Watch... Hopefully the developers consider implementing this at some point in the future.

One thing that does bother me though, is that some venues often disable a guest’s ability to pick music, once they notice guests have been changing the playlist... Yet said venues will still advertise in-venue (e.g. on televisions throughout the venue) that the music can be changed via crowdDJ.

As others here have asked, what is the point of a venue supporting crowdDJ for their crowdDJ / Nightlife system, if they’re just going to disable a guest’s ability to pick their own music?

Anyway, take this for a spin if your favourite venue supports crowdDJ / Nightlife... When venues (🤬 like Timezone Surfers Paradise! 🤬) aren’t preventing their guests from picking the music, this is actually a brilliant way to add value to one’s venue.
