Fantastic App but...

This app solved a very big problem for me with my passwords. I used to have seperate passwords for certain categories of websites but there were still a lot of repeated passwords. Dashlane makes strong passwords easier than remembering passwords outright.

However, one bug that I have ran into for awhile now is there seems to be a desync between the Dashlane app and the “Password Selection” screen when you use the “Password” button on your keyboard when entering your credentials. I will use the “Password button” to select the website credentials to be be presented with a “invalid credentials” error. But if I directly navigate to the app and copy the password manually from the app onto the website, the credentials work fine. Not sure what the issue is there but it’s super annoying.

Dashlane v Lastpass

I have been using Lastpass for a number of years but have been put off by their history of being hacked. I am now trialling Dashlane (Advanced) and like it a lot. The one thing I like is when you open a webpage DL gives you options based on the Name of the password and not just the User ID like LP does. With a number of logins for one site this makes DL a big winner for me. On the negative side DL does not have the depth of LP login info eg where there may be multiple layers to log-in eg U/N, P/W and surname. I also found that DL requires just the bare details of Passport info. LP allows you to add attachments (eg photo of Passport) to back-up your Passport info. It appears you can only add attachments when completing a Secure Note. It would be great to be able to add an attachment for Personal ID options as well (eg driver’s licence and passport). Overall I am tending toward keeping DL and unsubscribing from LP for the security alone.

A Great and very necessary Service

Dashlane has really changed the game for me - as someone who manages the online content for various companies social media and websites, it has been necessary to find a solutions to manage the hundreds of passwords in a secure fashion.
The ability to share passwords with my colleagues with compromising the security of the account has been the my favourite feature of Dashlane, but I also really appreciate being able so house my VPN service, Password saving and store cards across numerous devices with out having multiple apps to juggle.
I also really appreciate how simple Dashlane is to use for many of my less technology literate employees.
In short Dashlane has made my work life easier, and I highly recommend this service for anyone who works online
