STORY

We decided to publish the interactive story Duskwood in episodes. Not to annoy you - quite the contrary! It was important to us that you could start right away, even though the game is not finished. While you're already searching for Hannah, solving puzzles and making decisions, we're working on the sequel.

HOW TO PLAY? DECISION GAMES, TEXT ADVENTURES, CYOA? WHAT IS THIS?
You are connected to your friends in Duskwood via chat messenger. This allows you to receive pictures, videos, voice messages and even phone calls. Your answers, choices and decisions influence what others reveal of themselves, whether they like you, and even change the course of the story. This type of role play game (rpg) is also called text adventure, cyoa, decision- or choice games. It belongs to the genre of interactive fiction.

Fun
The game’s story is very intriguing, even though it is not finished yet. The puzzle game design isn’t all that appealing, but the gameplay is simple and sometime challenging to get through. I wouldn’t have any reason to invest money in this game but you can get more photo’s and voice lines. If you ran out of hearts to play the puzzle game, just wait it’s not that long to regain hearts. Just have patients too.
Good but not great
Overall I really liked this game. It gets you involved in the story from the first few minutes. The only thing that disappointed me was the mini games, the later levels are ridiculously hard and you don’t get many moves in order to complete and then be able to get more clues to the story. You don’t decrypt a mini game you can’t continue the game and find out the outcome!! You can however buy more moves and that’s the problem, I have always said I wouldn’t spend many on in app purchases and then I did as the game is that good. But the amount needed to finish a level is now beyond the joke and I’ve had to uninstall the game. Some levels and the freezing one are the worst with only limited moves. So great game but too greedy and not worth the extra money to just try to finish it. I’d rather read a mystery novel thanks. Much cheaper!!
Love but hate
I absolutely love this game! The storyline is so good but my only problem is the mini games, just to complicated to be considered “mini”, I recommend if you make them easier or at least change the mini games to something more enjoyable or other puzzles, that would have been better.
But looking past the mini games I still am obsessed with the game which is why I couldn’t give it four stars, the story is so enjoyable and almost feels real, you feel connections with the characters and the tension and realism that comes with it is amazing.
