Get the free Emby Media Server from the Emby website (required as part of your Emby install).

The app is free to browse your media collection, and free to cast media to other devices. Playback requires a small one-time in-app purchase, or an active Emby Premiere subscription, also available in-app.
Emby Premiere is available in-app as a monthly subscription for $6.99 USD per month. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account upon confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and the renewal cost is $6.99 USD. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period.

Disappointing
To release a version targeting rotation bugs and to only make it worse is disappointing.
Running iOS 12.1.2 on an iPhone 7 Plus, regardless of having rotation lock on or off, after watching a video the only way to return to portrait orientation, is to ensure rotation lock is off in control centre, and return to the iOS desktop then re-orient your device.
In general the app performs well for the core features it should, but this in my opinion is a core feature and needs to be addressed quickly.
Great up til the latest update
Worked great on iPad and iPhone up until the latest patch. Now you have to close the app and reopen completely just to change what you are watching (live tv included). Please fix this frustrating issue.
Why all the hate?
This app needs some love in a review, so here's some.
I am a long time client of another leading media app, who I won't, name, that started off being the app for the home user and turned into money grabbing bloatware.
Emby is still the app and server for the home media fan. They have a lively and responsive forum where the developer team are active and their "Instant Mix" feature is every bit as good as Apple's genius, in my opinion.
I'm a big fan of Emby in general, it's only a few dollars to buy the app and it has always worked well for me.
