John Warouw's iPhone ,

Have used this app for just under 10 years. It has never failed me. I simply use it to access my documents held on the desktop when I want to work on them from a different part in the office. This app on any IOS device works perfect. You obviously need to have some knowledge about your Network environment and non-IOS device that you are connecting to. I use it to copy whole directories onto to my iPad before I travel. For document access from iPad or other IOS devices to any desktop it is perfect and reliable. One can simply read a desktop document on the iPad/iPhone, or if necessary transfer it to the mobile device. Any documents prepared on the mobile device can also readily transfer to the desktop. Have had this app for at least 9 years and use it on an almost daily basis. Cannot do without it!

Taken for an idiot ,

Not for the novice. Unfortunately I purchased this app when there was no free trial. Looking to use with WD home cloud drive seeing WD software for the drive is so notoriously bad. Could only get the app to partially work by doing a hard reset on my iPad Pro after many long hours trying to nut through the setup process. Support for the app comprises of a link from the support centre to a help page! The only thing I got from the help page was to learn that this app does not support the WD home cloud drive unless you reconfigure the drives UI. I was looking to minimise the amount of storage on Apples iCloud, looks like I will be increasing it to TB storage. As I said not for the novice and with next to no support I suggest you give it give it a big miss, unless you like banging you head against a brick wall.

Have just changed my rating back to one star after it was changed to four stars

Have gone back and tried to get this app to work, but have since noticed that the most basic functions of the “FileBrowser” fail. In the photo library of the app you can brows photos in the camera roll, but when you go to the Albums folder in the app some of the Albums are empty even though the photos display in the camera roll section.....Too hard.

Developer Response ,

We're sorry to hear that you had problems connecting to your WD home cloud drive. Many of our users have that drive and FileBrowser finds it on the network and connects with no problems. If you email they will help get you connected.

Great application - Slideshow option could be better

This is a great app and I’ve been using it for ages. They changed something in the coding for the slideshow system though that’s super annoying. When you have the slideshow on random, then pause the slideshow you can’t go to the next file in the sequence like you could before. The current solution is to exit then find the image then open it so the images will be in sequence. If your showing clients images and they spot something they want to see more of it’s embarrassing to exit and search. If it wasn’t random after pausing a slideshow the whole process would be better. Support said they “Might introduce an option in the future” and it’s been months since they said that. It was there before why not just add the option to do what was possible before? Video support could also be better, like built in brightness, volume, and skipping gestures. With these additions I wouldn’t have to use multiple apps for different media types and my clients would be happier in my displaying media.
